Was meant to be a NSD today. Unfortunately DD tried to put her shoes on this morning, and they wouldn't go on. She seems to have sprouted overnight, so shoe shopping we went. Managed to pick up a bargain, that we both liked (half the battle won if she likes em, lol), so will attempt NSD tomorrow!x

Well I was going to do the weeks shopping today, but have come home knackered from work and having just watched ITV's program on how much food is going up, I really can't find the motivation! So another NSD for me today :)No 8 :D

A spendy day today - decided to do the weekly shop today and try and get some NSD in over the weekend. Temptation will be strong but I will try my best to get another 3 NSD in.

Well alongside the weekly shop I did succumb to some sale items in Mr S for presents - to go in hampers later in the year and worked out I saved £13 - pleased with this and have made a start!

Not been in for ages, mainly due to being a bit spendy, but I did manage one NSD on sunday & another on tuesday so I think it that takes me to 8 now.

Ohh that prog sounds interesting, I'll have to catch it on ITV Player.

Well my NSD are finally in double figures! :j 10 NSD please Spoony! :A I did make two incidental spends, another 14p Sanex roll on for OH and errr...29p on some ham hock terrine from Mr M when I popped in, I did feel a bit guilty about that - shouldn't have gone to the reduced section really but it was well reduced :o However, both spends will come out of the little change pot so no need to count those :j

Did have a look at the storage box I was considering in Mr W, I also found a possible one in Wilko today. The Mr W one did have a bendy lid which I liked but it was just a 'fold' not a proper hinge so I can see it snapping after a lot of use, plus the box had wavy edges which seems a but of a waste of space, and a black lid (prefer clear for some reason).

So, on balance, even though the Wilko one doesn't have a hinged lid, it is £3.50 (50p cheaper than Mr M) and a lot cheaper than the one from the orange DIY shop that was nearly £10  that will be going back this weekend. (all that over a box..moi ocd? never :o)

Cheryl, bedding is lovely and glad everything is coming together. We bought some JL bedding when we got married 7yrs ago and it washed well, only reason I (sadly) had to get rid of one set was because it was white - so went a bit yellowy. It was also egyptian cotton and I got totally fed up of ironing it - cotton mix all the way for me now :D Sometimes it's worth spending a little extra to get something right, esp for something like decorating where it's awful if it's not what you really wanted. If you do it how you want the first time, you won't want to redo it so soon...so in the long run its still :money: :D:D

btw...did I miss our moon outing tonight? or are we having it this weekend?

The bedding I have now cost me about the same 9 years ago - although it did include 2 pillow cases with the quilt cover, so I guess that probably makes this lot a bit dearer (even after allowing for inflation) once I add in the extra for those ;)

There's nothing at all wrong with my old stuff (which is why it'll become spares for bedroom 2 which currently matches my room), I just fancy a total colour change to make the room 'mine' rather than 'ours' - which sounds more than semi-mad to me :o

But if I work out the cost for two full sets of bedding and divide it by 460 weeks (about the time I've had my current ones) it works out at less than 43p/week, which is a shade over 6p/night. If I can make it last 10 years (520 weeks) that comes down to just under 38p/week or just over 5.25p/night. Doesn't sound a great deal for a room I like when you consider the cost of a room in a 'no breakfast included' overnight lodge place ;)

Whilst at work this evening I did debate either changing to the other bedding I'd shortlisted (but on coming home and checking their site it appears that one doesn't include pillowcases either, and is the same price) or downsizing from king to double which would cover half the cost of the pillowcases (need a new quilt anyway, so the size isn't an issue other than I do like a king quilt on a double bed due to there being less chance of losing it overnight ;))..... but having done the maths that saves me about 0.6p/night over 460 weeks, so I think I'm just going to resign myself to finding the extra £40 from somewhere :o

    Hi lovely gang:A
Well after my abortive attempt at an update yesterday, trying again today. Hoping it works or I really will go away in a huff:p:D....

We have another newbie joining us today, so a big welcome to:

:hello:suzitiger - all signed up now for your 5 now, good luck with getting there, you can do it!
Keep posting, that’s the secret to success and ask away if you want to know anything, we’re a friendly bunch (if prone to flights of fancy occasionally...)

Lots of NSDs rolling in over the past couple of days - well done everyone:

:j:j:jchris81418 - for no 17, that chocolate mini roll is turning into quite a maxi roll!. 8 in a row now as well, that’s fantastic!!
Hope the food shop wasn’t too serious and, yes, it’s a pain that we have to eat!!
And no 18 in the bag now as well and, even better, 9 in a row, that’s fantastic!!

:j:j:jjinty - for no 8, you’re doing great now, keep going!
And no 9 in the bag now as well, that’s great!
Well done for getting started with WW, you can do it!!
Grrrr to your poota problems yesterday, that’s not what you needed really!

:j:j:jdonna dynamo - for no 6, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going!
Eeek to spending all that for your birthday, that’s not on!! You carry on and do what you can afford, they should be grateful for getting something! Hope you have a lovely birthday x

:j:j:jboult - for no 12, you’re doing brilliantly, nearly there now, you can do it!!
    Eeek to the car tax!!!!!

:j:j:jLittleMissHappy - for no 7, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going!

You are so close to your target now, resist those sandwiches, you know it makes sense!!
And no 14 in the bag as well, that’s fantastic!

:j:j:jjaffacakegal - for no 8, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going!
Good news on the free mop and sorry about the internet problems, I had the same problem yesterday.. grrrr

:j:j:jNargle - for no 7, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going!
Igor was misbehaving with Hubert again tonight so I’ve locked them both in the Tardis, that could be a mistake as I’ve already had to shovel up a load of the usual tonight and hose everything down (including Hubert). Bl00dy Tardis had a flat battery after all that, I’ve got it on charge now and hoping it’ll be fit to travel to the moon on Saturday, no doubt more shovelling will be needed then
And no 8 in the bag now as well, that’s fantastic!

:j:j:jmarmiterulesok - for no 11, you got there, well done!! Keep going now!
Oh dear, sorry about the prescription spends

Oh dear, sorry about DD’s shoes today, that’s a pain, but well done for picking up a bargain

:j:j:jBDINI - for no 5, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going!
Well done for recycling the sticks for your toms, that’s definitely MSE gardening! Oooh.. and a cucumber as well, that’s fab!
Good news about your gran, really pleased to hear that
Hmmm.. I think I’d go with selling the socks but make sure he doesn’t know who you are or where you live

:j:j:jfedupandskint - for no 9, you’re doing brilliantly, keep going!
Well done for getting the presents, that’s a good saving

Sorry to hear about the washing machine troubles, hope it’s working again now

:j:j:jRed - pickled onion crisps.. they sound good. Sorry about the liquid gold and groceries shopping
And no 14 in the bag for you now, on the way to target no 2, yay!!

Moon outing will have to be over the weekend, I spend ages cleaning the Tardis again after Hubert had been in there and then the bl00dy thing wouldn’t start - it’s on charge now with Hubert and Igor locked in there.... that could be a huge mistake!!!!!

psychopathbabble - hope you enjoyed the weekend and the weather was OK?:)

Cheryl - and more brilliant whoopsies. I really like the bedroom colour scheme, it looks very smart:T

I'm still on no 17, had a mega-spendy day on Wednesday and a minor-ish one today (Thursday). I might have to spend tomorrow as well:eek:

I'll update the front page tomorrow, see you all then

    'night everyone
