    Good morning all!

Still a bit gruesome on the weather front here, but I've been out with doglet and I'm now enjoying looking AT the black clouds and rain as opposed to being IN them!
Looking forward to a quiet day: church this morning which I always enjoy, then feet up for the golf! th_golfer_3.gif I'd love Darren Clarke to win!

    Whatever you're up to -
    have a lovely day :)

  • Nipping in to say hi before we get going for the day. I've got a NSD planned as I've been into the supermarket at least once a day since we arrived. Not good but I'm not used to feeding so many people!

It poured down here yesterday then the sun came out and we had lovely blue sky late afternoon. Hoping for the same again today so we can take a walk. The DC don't have the right clothing for monsoons :rotfl:

    Have a great Sunday :D

Morning all...is this the right place for a spendy confessional :o:o

Well yesterday was deff not a NSD ....our friend came to repair our cracked bathroom windowsill tiles (yep, you remember the ones from last year...though it wasn't the plumber who let us down previously who came - I gave up on him). Anyway, we now have a nice new plastic type windowsill that covers the tiles and it looks fab. He also tidied up some of the sealant round the bath, and even though he couldn't get it as good as he wanted, at least it's white and looks much better. Unfortunately, with the cost of the materials he had to buy, and his time it came to £65

Now I was thinking that as it was a household maintenance cost I might not count it BUT then we decided to address the tap washers that needed changing ...WELL the nuts on the taps were deff not budging even after lots of WD40 and brute force. I also tried to change the washer on the outside tap but that wasn't going to move either. Sooo...in a huff I said we'd just need to get new taps and while I was looking on the Scref1x site at costs I found some nice modern ones that were reduced from about £60-£70 a pair to just under £20 ...so I ordered two sets of basin taps and a set of bath taps, plus a new outside tap :o:o Total cost £75

Now.....I did watch a video on YouTub3 last night showing how to address stubborn taps to change the washer so I am going to give that a go, and there is a chance that these taps which should be delivered tomorrow might not look right, plus I'm not sure about the condition of the bath under the currnent taps (a mixer one, and these are two single ones, so there's a chance the enamel might be damaged under the current taps anyway) so they might go back - but I did think for that price I should just get them then see - the upstairs sink taps have been chemically damaged (not by us) and these ones I've ordered aren't really much more expensive than the regualtion Armitage Shanks ones there now - so well see. But what I'm trying to say is...yesterday was spendy....

BUT....that does mean I'll prob be taking the washers back which would mean Friday was a NSD :rotfl: I'll find out more tomorrow when my delivery arrives.

Sorry for the waffle....still raining here but bright spells too. spoony, given my spends, I might be cooking up that froggy for dinner ;)
