I fail to understand why people worry so much about Stars and how many posts they have made..
It isnt a race.. theres no prize for making the most..
Its the quality of Its contents that matters..
Im am quite sure with all the problems the Technical team are facing and experiencing of late the last thing on their minds is where someones posts have vanished to.
I suggest that all stars and Post counts be disabled aswell webby.. itl go a little bit more towards saving server and database space, thus cutting running costs..
along with avatars and Signatures..
If someone must post a signature the size of an essay.. surely they could include it in their personal profile instead of every single post thats made..?
Sorry if you dont like the idea of this folks.. but i feel it would be a much easier forum to navigate quicker by taking these measures..
If you dont like it.. :mad:BSC Member #97- Discharged 4/2/09

must admit i agree with wobblebottom:D I can't understand all the fuss about how many posts made, but i would like to see "join date" made a bit more prominent. Avatars well i've fell in love with miss gosh
but to be honest most are pretty naff and if they make the site flakey bin em.
Same goes for some of the huge signitures.living on the "edge"0 -

I don't see it as a race, but I for one would give more credence to posts by someone with 4000 posts under their belt than 1. Of course it's not a guarantee of integrity or anything but just one indicator. Nevertheless an important one.0 -
I haven't posted on here for quite a while and was surprised to have lost a star (and I think number of posts too, although I really can't remember how many there were...).0

Approx 17 months ago I lost a star and 1000+ posts. This also happened to a large number of original/old school/senior forum members. Something to do with a site/server upgrade.
At the time Webby was looking into the possibility of re-instating them. I guess it couldn't be done?Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

You could get your star back by posting more often?
Interesting moot point - should stars lapse if you stop posting so often?Gone ... or have I?0 -
