Hi. Urgently need new desktop. Have 4 children, so would appreciate some guidance. Don't want to spend too much, but do want it to last. Any hints on aftersales service would be useful too. Old computer has died, so dependent on a fairly basic laptop.
I do have a quidco account, also use tesco deals a lot, so would consider these to boost points or get cashback.
Thanks
Eileen:)

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
ops forgot the most important question
how has your old system died? as in some instances a 'dead' system can sometimes be a simple fixDrop a brand challenge

As posted, how old pc died ?0 -
Old pc is about 7 years old, has been fixed several times, including new motherboard. USP's not working, CD rom driver not working, basically falling to bits!
Think I need new keyboard, monitor. Can manage with mouse, as it is wireless and not that old.
Main issue is the 4 children, 1 son is Autistic and not aware of what he's doing, though he can navigate and play his games. He will touch the screen a lot, so whatever we get needs to be able to withstand this.
Cost: haven't given it too much thought, but hope not to have to spend too much. Have looked on Tesco website; found 1 for £379 with 3G, 1TB and windows 7 home premium. This has been reduced. Would need to get monitor sepeartely...hadn't realised that as when I bought my old one it was a package. Thanks for replying so soon.

Old CRT monitors are possibly less likely to get damaged from touching the screen and are generally free or very cheap. Try freecycle or search on ebay locally.0 -

he watches links on utube, usually to do with barney or Thomas the tank, and a few others. The other 3 play games on facebook, Farmville, Cityville and others...not quite sure, but via fb.
Thanks

As others say, old CRT can be next to nothing. Join your local freagle not sure where yours is as nothing on profile but you may be able to get a CRT for free
£379 is a good price, although you could easily get a 2nd hand PC for cheaperOwner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them
