I did apply for Vanquis, about 2 weeks ago. Heard nothing, not even a decline letter, no phone call. So I assumed I declined...Thought I'd try Aqua,,,, we'll see. I have 2 defaults on my account...both for mobile phones, one with £42 and another of £37....which I'm currently in talks of removing them. I did have 4 defaults but Orange removed 2 as they admitted it was their mistake, just waiting for O2 to do the same.

But no bad history with anything like overdraft etc...

My score is probably the lowest on this forum though lol.
Debt in June 2011: Debt amount £1248
    Credit score: 406:mad:
    Debt in Jan:Debt amount £0
    Credit score: 715:T

Got my first credit card in December 2011 :D

I waited 9 weeks for my Vanquis card and on average they take 4-6 weeks, The fact you have not heard from them for 2 weeks is quite normal for Vanquis!

You need to be careful with the amount of cards you are applying for as too many searches on your credit file will go against you.

How old are the 2 defaults that you have?

They defaulted around a month or 2 ago. They were sim only plans with around 9months on each payments on time, then randomly defaulted....O2 think it might be mis-communication with having it disconnected and the payments section thinking I've not paid or something.... exactly same with ORANGE, but the Cheif Executive was really helpful and got them removed

Because they are recent defaults you might get declined everywhere - Maybe wait until 02 remove them and try again although you will have to wait 6 months before applying again to Vanquis if you have been declined this time.

You could try calling Vanquis as they should by now be able to give you an update of the status of your application.

  • I would also guard against getting too many credit cards and building up debt all over again rather than using them to repair your credit-worthiness!

Many, many of us have been there and done that more than once!

Good luck OP - not saying that's what you'll do/
