Not really, they're considering your applciation. Think the e-mail was quite self explanitory.

This usually means it has been referred to underwriters, I remember when my credit history wasn't great I got this message. Few days later got a decline letter. Hopefully though, it may get an ok:T You could try Vanquis but their apr is higher I think then Aqua.

I doubt it will get an OK...it's worth trying, not sure how else to build credit as I have no direct debits as it is....

All the best, but it could go either way.

Give them a call in a couple of days and you should know the outcome before you receive the letter.

My Cap1 card was approved online immediately two months back, then applied for Aqua last month and had to wait around 7-8 days for a letter saying I was approved.

When first looking around for credit cards, I tried:

    1. barclays initial. Immediate decline
    2. Capital one. Decision letter arrived declining me.

Checked credit file, found some there as a default which was wrong, fixed that, also got some arrears etc removed from my bank account. Waited 2 months.

    1. Barclays initial. Immediate decline.
    2. Capital One. Decision letter, approved. £200 limit
    3. Aquis card (unusual vanquis product with halfway decent interest rates actually). Decision letter, phone call next day, approved £1k limit. (asked for it to be £500)

    Three months later,
    1. Barclays initial. Immediate decline.
    2. Aqua card. Decision letter, approved, £250 limit. Aqua card arrived about 10 days from application, aqua pin arrived about 8 days from application.

Just keep using the various cards for groceries, and paying them off each month, no credit limit increases yet from cap 1 (about six months down the line) but not too worried as am rebuilding credit and won't get any seriously mainstream products until 2014 when the 1 remaining default I can't get rid of will be removed.

Anyway, I had that screen come up twice myself, once for a decline, once for an approval. If you do get it, check your credit file and see if any nasties you can get rid of, wait a little then apply again. The subprime card guys don't seem to mind a few searches on your file.

Oh and buy some socks on littlewoods! I did get a littlewoods account in the intervening months which wouldn't have harmed my credit reporting at all. :)

    Good luck!
Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.

I applied for Vanquis and got declined then about 3-4 months later got a mail shot "priority invitation", applied and got accepted. So although Aqua have declined you now they may want you in a few months.
