There's no point in using DHCP for your network so used fixed IP's instead.
  • Delete the automatic connection from the windows wireless configuration, and re add it, and retype the wpa tkip key.

  • Well you could turn off encryption, which would simplify things, but obviously your network would then be insecure. Also make sure your wireless connection and the router is still setup to use dhcp. If you are really struggling I can look at it remotely, but other members may chip in and give you the answer.

  • be tempted to temporarily switch encryption off to see if thats the problem or not.

    Well thats bU88ered it.

It says it has uninstalled but its still in the add and remove list.

It won't reinstall as it keeps trying says installation support file access is denied and the devise is now not recognised.

Can I intall it online some how?

  • download the driver from the netgear website, go into safe mode, uninstall it, then in normal mode, reinstall it from the file you have downloaded.

if that doesn't work, try start, run, msconfig, and untick the wg111 entry and reboot.

When you reinstall it, tell it to let windows wireless zero config service manage it.

I am assuming it is a wg111.. make sure you use the correct version 1/2/3 driver for the model you have.
