Wireless has been working fine. It can see the wireless connection but for some strange reason now has the wrong IP address and I don't know how to change it.
It was working fine this morning.

Its doing this on purpose as it knows it has a vital part to play at Christmas.

It says its connected....but when you repair the network it can't find it.
The address its giving me is 169.254.71.211
It does not have the details of the DNS server there.
I have a yellow triangle on the wireless icon.

  • have you tried a reboot, is windows set to automatically connect to it when in range? Is it encrypted?

If you can't connect wirelessly, you are going to have to connect with an ethernet wire and check the router settings.

  • Thats why I like LAN cables - they have a habit of working :)

whats happening is that you are not picking up a DHCP address from the Access point. DO you have a seperate access point & broadband modem , or is it an all in 1 ?

how many devices do you have connected to your network ? ( someone could have set a short DHCP scope and its become full )
