Mildew can also be removed fairly easily with a scourer and some cleaning product, although it does stain grout and sealant if left for too long. We've had good luck though with a CIF product called "power foam". Seems to remove much of the staining.
We always have opened the window and used the extractor, but the ceilings are very low, there's was a little when we moved in so it's obviously a recurring problem. I have tried scrubbing it with bleach and a toothbrush. It hasn't come off properly I think it's ingrained we don't have time to replace the filler stuff cos hopefully we're only here for another two days *fingers crossed* (everythings shut over the weekend) tbh I doubt I'll get my deposit back anyways he's going mental over us overstaying which he's entitled to do but we have nowhere to go and I'll pay extra rent but I'm not making myself homeless for a day or two for him.
For the person who asked haven't we anywhere to go?
Sadly no our friends all went home for uni hols. My dad refuses to bring us back and our stuff if we're potentially only here for an extra day (providing all goes well) see my home city is an hours drive away and everyone works.
Nevermind I think it'll be okay.0 -

Sometimes this is correct, however my windows don't get opened certailny November to February (I hate the cold). This has been in a house for 30 years and in a flat for the past four years. There was no extractor fan in the house and one in the bathroom in the flat. Not once have I ever had mildew or mould. My daughter however had terrible mould in one flat, with windows regularly opened, an extractor fan and a de-humidifier in regular use. There is more to mildew than simple ventilation I'm afraid. It's someone else's fault.0
