When I requested the upgrade on Saturday 18th June I had a lengthy discussion with the CS officer that I only required the phone and would negotiate my plan in September when the contract was up.
This was because even though l had been sent the better value advice by orange l had not had time to review their review.

Look forward to hearing from you in September/October when you may find that you have, in fact, renewed your current plan at the same rate as now for another 2 years.

Your post implies that you are anticipating reducing your minutes and therefore your costs in September. You use the word "negotiate". It would be very naive of Orange to send you out a new handset in June/July with the possibility of you going on to a monthly plan of, say £10 or even going to a new network!

I would really love to be wrong on this, for your sake.

I too look forward to September as the paperwork does say old added to new contract to see whether they will change the plan, however I am not so much looking for a reduction in £'s, it just the plan I have I do have too many minutes for talking and texting.

If they, in September want to reduce the plan charges fine, if they want to keep it as it is fine, if they want to increase it, depending upon 'how much' then that will be another decision to make but at least I will expect that what they say 'may not' match up to what their paperwork says. I was not planning on leaving Orange after getting my upgraded phone, l just didn't want to be blind-sided by being tied in into something I did not want or ask for.:)
  • When do upgrade or do contracts with orange etc...record the calls as this case was a little confusion re the vat, but you cant trust orange. If you need to confirm that you have not committed to another two year contract as another poster is worried, try: executive.office@orange.co.uk

Politely insist they put where you stand in an email to you as you are still believing sept is time you can discuss package. Heres hoping all is okay :)
