Oral-B Pro-Expert toothpaste

If you read the which report on toothpastes you will see none whitened teeth. The abrasive ones wear stains off but with prolonged use also wear enamel away. Eventually the teeth become very sensitive and permanently damaged. Talk to your dentist about your toothbrushing habits now before too much damage is done.0

Euthymol - abrasive? Are you sure you dont mean the smokers Toothpaste Eucryl?
My dad told me abuot 'Euthymol' when I was 15 and I've now been using it for over 35 years. I havent had a filling for over 35 years. My Dad knew an old man who used it all his life and when he died at 85 still had all of his teeth.
Euthymol is not abrasive at all. However, 'Eucryl' smokers toothpaste might be?0 -
one of the sneakiest use of marketing is "whitening" toothpastes. They dont whiten. The only thing that can whiten is bleach. All they do is act as a stain removal medium usually by being abrasive0

MrsE does it taste a bit like cloves like the old Mentadent used to?
I still use Mentadent but preferred the old taste to the new minty one.
I'll give this a try when it's available.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Euthymol is fluoride free so will do nothing to prevent decay and is very abrasive probably the most abrasive toothpaste. Eucryl is a powder and is like using cif on your teeth. However any toothpaste has the potential to be abrasive if you are brushing three times for two minutes every time you brush your teeth.
I'm not sure if Rembrandt doesn't contain fluoride either , so not only are the toothpastes abrasive they are probably not contributing any fluoride either.
This is an advertising link but makes the point that all whitening toothpastes are abrasive they grind away stains , they don't bleach or whiten. http://www.thetoptensite.com/Stain_Removal_Toothpaste.html0 -
I also trialled this product for Oral B and whilst it did make my teeth feel very clean and smooth - that only lasted a short time. I prefer to use the corsodyl paste.0

One last point, by prolonged use of these products , euthymol and Rembrandt you are going to wear away the enamel making the tooth more porous and eventually revealing the yellow dentine underneath. Not only is dentine very sensitive it also picks up stain more than enamel. You are then looking,at the least, at White fillings to repair the damage , which pick up stains easily.
Talk to your dentist about your choices of toothpaste and brushing habits as together ,long term , you will have damage. Add drinking fruit juices/smoothies/fizzy drinks and the acid will accelerate the damage.
Only use a stain removal toothpaste such as euthymol or rembrandt /pearl drops etc no more than once a week if you must.0 -
Found this site for anyone doubting euthymol is abrasive. It has alternative uses for it .... Including cleaning grouting and used sparingly!!!! cleaning jewellery http://www.helpful.co.uk/practical-and-unknown-uses-euthymol_1120

It has a funny herbal zingy taste, I think it's a marmots toothpaste & I love it, it's cheap so try it.0 -

I know Euthymol doesn't contain fluoride, it doesn't matter to me. I use Euthymol then floss, the floride toothpaste after.0
