Oral-B Pro-Expert toothpaste

Options
Dentist gave me a sample of this

Its really nice, tastes a bit like the stuff the dentists use to polish.

The review is from Boots but I can't find it for sale on their website, only Amazon & they are out of stock.

Anyone seen it in the shops?
Anyone else tried it?

Funnily enough, there is a big thread on a dental web forum about this stuff at the moment too!

Opinion (mainly on the taste of it) being quite mixed. A lot of dentists have been sent bucketfuls of the stuff.

Technically, it's quite a good toothpaste with a good level of active fluoride in it. So it's a good toothpaste to use.

Is it particularly better than the good 'total' or 'complete' toothpastes that are already out there? Hard to say.

If you like the taste, then it's certainly not going to do you any harm!

Personally, I like it, but Mrs T.S. hates it. But I have cupboards full of all sorts of free toothpaste, so she can avoid it if she wants too. :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I've been given two tubes of this by my hygienist as part of a 3 month trial for Oral-B. I don't think it's on general sale yet as they haven't set the RRP, or maybe I'm getting confused....:o

The taste isn't really minty, but not unpleasant. I prefer a toothpaste that isn't quite so runny, but as I use an electric toothbrush, that could be why. I've only been using it for about a fortnight, so it's a bit early to tell about it's other claims and to see if it's any better at controlling my staining than my normal toothpaste.

Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!

DD received a sample to test for the Boots Panel. She hated it.....the grittiness and the taste in particular and abandoned it very quickly.

You've made me curious now, think I'll see if I can find the remains and try it myself!

I rather like the euthymol type taste. The advantage it's supposed to have is a particular type of fluoride which hangs around longer providing better protection.

Some people seem to find it makes their mouth a bit more sore/sensitive.

Personally speaking I just use whatever comes free through the door or failing that what's on special offer.

That must be why I like it then. I brush twice, I brush, floss then brush again.

The first brush is ALWAYS with Euthymol, the second usually with Rembrante, but I've been using the Oral-B instead.

Please dont! Euthymol is very abrasive then you are using a whitening toothpaste over years you will have no enamel left and your teeth will get very sensitive. If you smoke etc only use a stain removing toothpaste once a week.

    I don't smoke:eek:

I like the taste of Euthymol & the whitening effect of the whitening toothpastes.

Toothpastes do not whiten teeth though.
Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are usually right.
