Leaving BT for Talk Talk

Macman is correct. However, in my own case there was some sort of change in who was allowed to access the exchange or something and I got nearly all the charge waived. I didn't have to do anything with BT to organise this - just made sure that everything the Talk Talk rep told me was written down and signed by him, with his rep name and number.
There were 2 problems with the switch:
1 - couldn't get the wifi working. Sat through 3 calls with the foreign call centre worker - same one each time due to a reference number they gave me - and he eventually admitted he couldn't help any more and passed me to the "next level". Lovely Scottish lady sorted me out in one more call. Although I'm in a village I'm only a quarter of a mile from the exchange and my unlimited broadband is v v quick and I'm v v pleased.
2 - the first 3 months Talk Talk failed to apply the half price discount offered when I signed up. Having the rep's name/reference number meant a quick phone call each time sorted it out. Yes, it was a bit of a pain, but it was quickly sorted out.
The financial gain was good and way more than outweighed the minor hassle. And if you want another name for hassle, it's spelt A.O.L. :rotfl:
With BT I'd had an ongoing intermittent problem with incoming calls - the phone would cheep once then stop and lots of incoming calls were missed leading to relatives/friends complaining. BT never managed to sort this out. Same happened when I started with Talk Talk but the response was much better than BT's. After reporting the problem I got a text from Talk Talk saying if fault reoccurred I should text back "Not Fixed". 3 or 4 goes sorted this out completely.
Sorry for the long post - I know some people have had a bad experience with Talk Talk but I now have quicker, cheaper, mended, phone and broadband and am very happy overall.

talk talk..... thats all you do tryin to solve your problems...
remember this.... whose infrastructure do talk talk use??? BT
will you get faster broadband? NO, BT wont let that happen
they may be cheaper, but there is a reason for that.... i would start to become multi lingual if i was you!!:mad:Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -

This is quite incorrect. TT have one of the largest LLU networks in the UK, certainly in terms of the number of exchanges unbundled. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I am taking the plunge from Bt to sky for line rental.Bt are getting too expensive if you dont have calls through them.Almost £15 per month now.Got 3 months free with sky making the first 12 months around £111.0
-
But using BT Line Rental Saver you would pay only £120pa-that's £10 per month, not £15.
The Sky equivalent (Sky upfront line rental) will save you an extra 75p pm (£9.25pm).No free lunch, and no free laptop

Some times service outweighs the 'package' In that sense dont need to have everything off the same provider.
Cant put links up but after the TT fiasco 5 or 6 year sago, i paid to get out! They still owe me money.
Check out yourcalls.net wouldnt have the broadband but calls and line rental are first class. £9.79 p/m inc evenings and weekends. Check out sub £14 p/m free calls day and night plus actual calls are cheaper. Golden destination can be anything. What i will say as a mover for best services on offer is they must be good if i have been with then 5 or 6 years!0 -
