I think this situation must arise fairly often and I'm surprised noone has come along to say that it has happened to them, either as a carer themselves or a member of the family.

Somerone I know, you'll see why I don't describe her as a friend, was telling me how her elderly aunt had passed away and left a lot of money to the carer in her Will. Suspecting the worst I asked how the aunt was when she had made the Will to which this person replied, "I don't know. I hadn't seen her for years, not since my uncle passed away."

I didn't look into it any further, but I suspected the lady was of sound mind and had benefitted the right person.

missmelanie - could you let us know what happens? As it's something none of have direct experience of, it would be useful to know the result.
