TESCO - DISGUSTING - Pricing errors Assistance - Per Store kitty

I used to like Tesco's but my family and now me have encountered the same problems!?!

Visiting a store some way from my home. I was charged a wrong price for an item and didnt realise until I got home.

I went into my local store expecting it to resolved quickly - NO! The customer service lady said she could not help as 'each store has a discrepancy kitty' and it was 'the other stores problem'.

Unhappy with this I asked for a manager who was completely and utterly useless. She simply advised 'thats the way it is', refused to let me call head office from store(didnt even know the number as well!) and refused to give me her surname.

People travel for work (and pleasure) much more now and fee safe in the knowledge that if they have any problems then they will have a local store nearby- this seems such a disgraceful procedure.

I cannot believe this of a huge International company that should also have a no blame culture and work together.
PLAY GOOD!

Go back when the lady isn't working or someone else is on. Sounds like she can't be 'arrised.

you see tesco in the title and automatically assume it to be another troll post so imagine my surprise at opening and seeing that the op isnt a newly registered poster with 1 post to his/her name!

Sounds like the usual tesco cs cant be bothered attitude, had them try to refuse an exchange for me once as I didn't have a receipt to prove I bought it from Tesco, took my half an hour of tooing and froing EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A TESCO'S OWN BRAND!!!! during this time another customer brought some strawberries back to the other cs staff member on duty at the time, which "didn't smell right" and he thought they were off, they gave him his money back no questions asked (no receipt) and when I looked the strawberries were over a week past their sell-by!!!!!
Should have gone to her first I thought, so as the first reply says, go back when someone else is on, its the same company they can waste their time getting the funds back from the original store if thats true (which I doubt)

Tesco stores have pictures of the managers with their names (normally near customer service), the complaints details are on their website and the receipt has a web address and phone number. So you can easily complain.

You say that other members of your family have previously had the same problem? What happened when they complained?

Not sure how the store you go into are meant to check if you have been charged wrong as they will not know what SELs were out or what offers the other store had on at that time.

As for the person who said they didn't have a receipt but it was Tesco brand, what says you paid for it?

When I read the thread title, I imagined you had been told by the store's resident cat about something.

Just imagined bagpuss sitting at customer services...

Not much help to you, but I had a good laugh...

Don't different tescos sell products at different prices. So i would of thought that going to a different tescos to rectify a price change wouldn't be possible. (tescos extra v tescos metro)
But i agree they should have been more helpfull in explaining this:)
Finally debt free, all thanks to this site and all the posters:j

exactly, if the sel was wrong which it sounds like it is then why should another store be out of pocket since they werent the store who originally charged the OP incorrectly
  • i purchased a cashmere jumper from tesco, did it in with my weekly shop (who keeps reciepts from their weekly shop?) the seam came away after one wash...
took it back quoting SGA said i didnt need a reciept as it was faulty. girl on till was no help, nor the section manager or the store manger.
i emailed sir trevor lehee (the then big boss of tesco) told him how much i spent in his store and how long i'd been a customer
his PA called the next day and said a replacement was being sent out with their appol.
lot of hassel but good result.

    stick with it
