Personally I dont bother with the swearing much anymore, DD is now 9 and substitutes the words :) But with a 6 year old I could see her happily singing along......

yep I've had that problem too.. my dd loves MCR and I had to ban her from playing welcome to the black parade out loud when her little brother was around after I caught him singing "teenagers scare the living s#!t out of me" quite loudly one morning on the way to school :o It's relegated to her ipod when he's around now!
  • My 6 yo dd loves the pop party ones too. She's getting a CD player for Christmas from my parents and they're giving her some ballet music as she goes to ballet lessons.
  • a little OT but have you seen the mp3 player for kids in early learning centre?

Hehe Looby, luckily dont have that problem as DS is 14. Ive always been fairly relaxed with the swearing issues anyway, Ive always been of the opinion that if you make a big deal out of it the kids will take more notice than if you let it pass. That said, I dont swear and neither does anyone else in the house.

Being a family of MCR fans we have been to a few gigs in the past and Mr Way swears like a sailor onstage anyway lol DD, me and DS met MCR over the summer and they were lovely guys. They made a big fuss of DD and she had pics taken with them all.

What DD doesnt yet know is that there is a ticket to see them in March in her xmas stocking :)

My 11yo daughter is getting the Happy Feet soundtrack. McFly and Girls aloud albums. She also bought the Hannah Montana cd with her own money. She also likes Kelly Clarkson.

Saying that she's into Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the disco. She even wears the t-shirts. She has crushes on Pete Wentz and Brendan Urie (strange girl!!) But some of the lyrics on them are not really suitable. Her brothers call her an emo lol, but she says she's not a soup can (??) I asked her what she meant and she said she likes what she likes and she doesn't care what other people think. She says I shouldn't label her (hence the 'i'm not a soup can!') On one of the albums it mentions a 'wh*re'. My daughter insists they're singing about a horse. :D

OMG my dd would be so jealous, they have a date in Liverpool (where I grew up and where most of my family are now) on my dd's birthday and I tried SO hard to get tickets for, but as it's such a small venue they sold out within an hour. It would have been her perfect birthday present. I have to say I've become a bit of a MCR fan myself...but dd has made me promise not to admit that to anyone she knows lol
  • My daughter had had the Now albums each year and they are not always free of unsuitable language! We have downloaded copies sometimes (from poss dodgy sources) and they have always had the unedited versions.
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

Jackieb, my DD also loudly sang about the "Grooms bride being a horse!", we now sing that ourselves....its funnier than the original!!!

Aww Looby, thats a shame. It was actually me that was MCR obsessed to start with and I think the kids have got the "if you cant beat her join her" attitude. Then again, Ive been listening to them for 3 years or so.... Have you tried the MEN in Manchester for march? May be a couple of seateds left??

On that song it also says, 'haven't you heard of closing the goddam door' but I sing 'haven't you heard of closing the goddam doorknob' because that what is sounds like. She asks me how on earth you can shut a doorknob. She gets most annoyed. :D
