Boiler Internal Worth?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if the internals of an old boiler would be worth anything.

The boiler is 30+ years old and must weigh over 70kgs. It has an aluminium surround.
The heat exchange looks like iron or steel, and is where all the weight is.

Is it worth taking it to be weighed in, as due to its weight I risk ruining the boot of my car. If it's only worth £5, I'd rather have the rag 'n' bone man collect it, and save my paintwork!

Thanks guys.

give it to the rag and bone men, steel/iron is only worth anything if you have a tonne or so

I always leave an old boiler like this out in the customers front garden. Isn't long before a !!!!! pulls up and takes it.

Saves me the hassle of dumping the worthless old thing :)

I got rid of two floor standing boilers last year.
Someone said IF I COULD get it to the scrap yard,
I could have got £100+ each.

The rag and bone man has the truck, you don't.

I doubt it. Cast iron is £150 a ton.

Quickest it's taken for a boiler to go from the front garden of the house i've just removed it from - less than the time it takes to boil a kettle.
