Aww thanks Mollusk that is Socks, one of my three fur babies, looking much more angelic than she is
. I took her mother in back in March as she was living under the deck and no-one claimed her....4 weeks later surprise surprise two beautiful kittens (socks and her brother boots)!! But Bella (the mother) didn't get on with my old puss (Phoebe,14years old) so when the kittens were 12 weeks she went to live with my mum, they are 17ish weeks now.
Your cat is gorgeous too,and yours wesker (i love all fury felines lol), what is his/her name?
There are sooo many cute kitty avatars on here!Lloyds Loan (£0/£6000) Emergency Fund (£113/£1000) ISA £592.240 -

there's a reason i'm paying my mum back first and as a matter of urgency - she gave me a gift of some money to put either towards my wedding or a deposit on a flat, and made me promise not to use it for anything else. but between the transfer from my current account to an isa, somehow £300 of it got usedoops. she really begged me not to use it for anything else because she knows how useless i am (was!) with money so even though it's not the most financially efficient way of dealing with my debts it's the priority for me.
as for the rainy day fund, no i don't have anything like that at all, i was wondering what people thought of them here (haven't had a chance to search through for stuff about that yet cos there's so much other useful stuff i'm ploughing through!) because i was under the impression i should just throw every spare penny at my debts and then start saving. if the worst comes to the worst i do still have my credit cards for a genuine emergency..... maybe i'll carry on blindly paying off my mum's debt till it's gone and then start on a rainy day fund... do you have one?? is it really the best way to go instead of paying off as much credit as possible...?
(am i allowed to post this much personal waffle on this thread?)
back on topic, £1 to bank of mum! (short on cash till the end of the month so they'll be tiny payments for at least another 10 days!)I used to have savings but used them when the debt got really bad. I am now trying to build up some funds again, as i struggle everytime something unexpected happens. With 2 young children and a car, that happens quite often!! I haven't got a credit card to fall back on either, so i really think i need something!:)
Yep it's one of the first rules of Dave Ramsey (the US Martin Lewis)...
I have £400 stashed away in National Savings and like £100 to dip into for say e-cig stuff or something that I'm trying to build up...
Out of spare monies I put about 50:50 on OD (which is huge right now) and savings...
Only tomorrow £70 of savings has been spoken for for e-cig and nicorette and I need new shoes but they'll have to wait another fortnight..they're just for church so they can wait...:)..
So currently I have £30 in savings (accessible) and I'll have another £60 tomorrow....so I figure dipping into £10 of savings for what I need....and go from there.....
I always keep a little bit over in the spreadsheet just to keep me okay...you never know what's shot up in price at the supermarket....
So yeah that's me...Interesting to get folks views on the RDF......didn't mean to cause a fight - just thought it was important.....But I guess it depends on the individual....
Anyhow have started to volunteer @ the credit union and love it. So think when I get round to paying off my macbook I'll put the monies there....
And I just got two old starbucks mugs for £2 from the charity shop..been looking for those for years
