To be honest I think rainy day funds are a personal preference. I personally dont have one (and lots of people will frown upon that!) but I am with you in that I would rather throw that extra money at CCs/loans than have it sat in account.

It really is what makes you feel more comfortable!

I cant afford to do both so im the same as you flower:D

Wednesday 17th = £5.17 to Evil Egg, £1.17 to Crapital One, £10 to various savings pots, making a total of £16.34
Thursday 18th = £10+£5.18 to Evil Egg, £1.18 to Crapital One, making a total of £16.36

Just as an added point, another reason I dont have a rainy day fund is that with my current debts nothing is at 0% interest and I pay around £120 a month in interest alone. I am never going to earn more than that in interest unfortunatly :( so it makes sense to me to try and get those figures down ASAP.

yep, same here. although i pay even more in interest. it's sickening, isn't it. been rejected for a couple of credit cards and a loan recently so i'm stuck with these horrible rates for the time being. <sigh> well... at least we appear to be going about it all the right way :)
