Ooh really funny bought a little porcelain wren from a new local market for a pound on Saturday - I am watching an icon on ebay and decided to click onto their other things and the wren was there starting at eleven pounds!

Here I am, here I am how do you do?!

Sorry redglass - little rhyme I used to sing the children!:rotfl:
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

  • hot hot hot! went to look at a house yesterday, I'm trying to relocate so that was £25 in petrol plus food for my son and I when we got there. Don't want to think about it :-) The house needed gutting, rewiring, replastering, replumbing........ not a goer but we had a nice day out.

Am still trying to keep the food bill down. Being doing Mr. A's price guarantee for the past 3 week's. Got a voucher the first 2 week's. Am suprised at how much some products have gone up.

Doing my casual work through the sporting events company again this year. Have done 3 events so far. Not much temp work at the moment. Must go to another agency.

Such a spendy day yesterday, had to.take a shirt back.that work.bought, didn't have the size that I think would fit, and only 1 left in size above, so got it. Whilst I was their I decided to get some white bras to wear under the shirt...£33 later and only 1 white bra, but came out with 3 sets, 2 lots of 2 bras, 1pack of 5 black pants n 1 pack of 4 coloured pants.. this should have cost a lot more but a few where down to £3/4 a bra and £1 pants. (New underwear is badly needed, nothing to do with going to stay at the guys new flat sometime this week. Nope nothing at all to do with it)
Spent £50 in Mr Ts :( load of veg, not much fruit tho :( milk, and load of reduced donuts n pastrys, not really what I should be buying after trying on size 12 jeans and struggling to get them buttoned :( Told new guy, no more going out for food as he's going to have me back to size 22 in no time, I'm really lazy, very rarely exercise but I eat like I'm still a dancer, pity I don't have that body anymore :( ... so no more Chinese, Indian or Italian food that I just can't say no too... oh and btls of wine to myself!!!
I bought 2 craft magazines, and was really disappointed with them both. Checked eBay and they are only selling at £1

Hoping to do a car boot sale this weekend. I have 4 years of boys stuff to sell. I'm a hoarder and I really don't want to be anymore, especially as we are getting really serious, and possibly one time, I'll need to let him stay over.

Oh don't think I updated on it much, but last week, we went out for dinner, him, me and wee man, and they got on brilliantly! My son thinks he's great, and is ok with him coming over or us all.going out together.
The picnic didn't happen, the weather wasn't good on Sunday and Saturday son went with his dad, so me n him went to see his new flat, its on the water, has great views, is in a small village, abt 20/30 mins from mine.

In my quest to be as frugal as possible, I'm now looking into Christmas n birthdays... and thinking of doing him a music hamper, buying second hand guitar music books, a plectrum maker (cheapest I've seen is £20) and eBay has a sterling silver plectrum engraved for under £5.... so I think if I start getting the books in now, I can have a good sized hamper... will do the Guinness glass of socks, n some smellies too... any other ideas?

Avril I use my clothes horse outside all the time, just purely due to it almost always raining, makes it easier to grab it all quickly.

You could make a whole load of plectrums out of washing up liquid bottles and save yourself £20, just cut them out with scissors they work just fine! :-) Love the idea of a music hamper!

The plectrum maker is just basically a big punch, lol, these ones work on bank cards as well.
As much as I like the idea, he isn't in to being frugal (yet!) I don't want to look too cheap yet, plus I don't have washing up bottles :)

The more he talks abt his life in Florida, the more I see what he has given up on the off chance that we would work. He had regular gigs n even groupies, and he will need to start all over again here, once he's got what he wants from the family company... he's only bn home abt a month n has got them to expand into installing solar panels, and he was talking about buying bouncy castles and hiring them out at weekends, just because they have the vans doing nothing then!

    Hello fellow frugallers:j
Glad to hear all is going well Lolalemon;)
Mrs B31- would megabloks be suitable for your smallest person? No chance of those being swallowed:D

All is well here at Gnat Bottomed Towers- we packed up our lunch and went down to Littlehampton today for a jolly jaunt. Saw the sea and rummaged around in the charity shops- have succeeded in finding a very smart pair of black trousers on the sale rail for £1 which will do for interviews [being positive...do need to apply for some jobs first though when I get back from my hols:rotfl::rotfl:] Also added to my wool stash:o...I'm buying reasonably priced blue wool when I see it and today I've started to knit the small person a blanket. It's my intention that it will be a mishmash of blues and types of yarn to hide my novice knitting skills:D

Whilst out today we swung by Lidl- they have the Loyd Grosman Thai Green Curry sauce on offer for 99p [instead of £1.89 in Sainsburys] I don't usually buy it but it'll be great for our holiday and we have also bought a bottle of their premade Jeeves to try- it looks like their equivalent of Pimms. They've also got the neat version on offer for £5.99 with 42% extra free. Sadly Pimms is way out of my league these days but shall let you know what I think of Lidl's:D

Been a productive little frugaller this afternoon [can you tell I'm no longer working:D] - I've cooked up the windfall apples that have dropped from our neighbour's tree onto the path behind. Waste not want not...the plan is to freeze them and and then make up a batch of crumble mix and take the two away so that we can have crumble when we're self catering.
