    Hi July thread :)

Getting used to short hair gradually. Appreciating some advantages anyway like it drying quick and still looking tidy at the end of the day! If i'd wanted it short I'd probably be really pleased with it so I think it was just the suprise! It looks a lot better now it's not straightened... the hairdresser straightened it so it was pin straight on the underneath layers and it looked weird... I don't know why they always seem to do that.

OH's parents are staying tonight. They phoned to say they're on their way and didn't have time to make lunch so they're bringing a loaf of bread, block of cheese & 4pts of milk! I don't know what they think we live like to not have bread & milk in the house :rotfl:

Sorry to hear that Charlie, you may well have been the best person but some employers are just rubbish at choosing people! Maybe spoons etc had people applying who'd done the exact job before.
It drives me mad when employers want really specific experience when it's something I could pick up within a couple of hours. The job fairy program annoys me too when they all get jobs usually with no experience, qualifications or skills other than vaguely saying 'i like working in a team'. Phew...
    (I need a job too :()

Marzinpan fish - I agree with you about employers, they are so blinkered and use physcometric testing instead of instincts to employ people, interviewers have no skills these days, then they wonder why they get incompetent fools working for them.

    Two uu for July already,

Sanctuary salt scrub sachet - wnba I don't think, very abrasive and I find salt scrubs very wasteful, it drops off in lumps all over the shower. I prefer cream based scrubs.

S&G body butter lotion, wba, already have another in the stash for later, thought this would be uu in June but a leg's worth hung on until today.

Thanks guys but I feel like I pile of poo this morning :(

Doesn't help with OH who is now criticising me about my inability to find a job, everything from my CV is obviously carp, Im rubbish in interviews and Im basically a faliure for applying for jobs not related to my degree (because obviously theres THOUSANDS of jobs related to my degree Im just not bothing to apply for )

Had a shower to clear my head but he's now sulking in the study. Im waiting for the moment - I imagine the next week or two we have yet another row over it and he's going to tell me he's not happy with paying for me anymore etc etc.....Easy awnser really. I move out and he can live here. He'll still be paying the exact same on bills which he doesn't seem to realise.

Going out for dinner tonight with the Inlaws too so hoping the atmosphere here improves.......

EDIT: To be fair he's being OK nnow, I don't think sometimes he realises the way he says things....

Afternoon everyone. The weather at last seems to have turned into summer here. yesterday and today has been lovely and warm.

Charlie - Sorry to hear about the job interview. What about approaching some temp agencies?

Kaz - For RIDDOR it paperwork must be completed by an employer, someone who is self employed or people in the control the premises. A report should have been done by the company under dangerous occurrences. Specifically

"failure of any load-bearing fairground equipment, or derailment or unintended collision of cars or trains"

    And

    Major Injuries

"a member of the public suffers an injury and is taken to hospital from the site of the accident"

The RIDDOR reporting is done through the company not the indivdual member of the public. It does sound like a horrific expereince but I am glad that your DD is on the mend.

The things you learn for work eh?

I have also binned by Clinique masccara as it has been open for 3 months now. So another OUT for me. I have replaced it with another Clinique one from my stash.

I need to start thinking about getting ready as I am having a early bird dinner with my best friend from high school. We hadn't talked in 10 years but through the power of Facebook are back in contact. :)

    Have a lovely day ladies.

Charlie - big hugs for you, partly for the job, and mostly for your oh - sometimes I genuinely wonder what planet men come from to not realsise how hurtful they can be !!!!

no UU for me - I questioned Red (member 9a) as to wether she'd like her tail washed or a whole bath as it is so hot today - and got "bog off,you arent coming near me with water" - so i went up the road and bought an ice cream instead... dont think ive got anything splutterng that will end with my bath tonight either - so quiet day for me.

    Hello ladies,

    I'm in again!

Thanks EH for the new thread.

I hope that I'll be able to keep up to date woth the thread this month and am going to try really hard to have have a no purchase month...we'll see!

I've already had my first UU of the month:
Essence lipstick, this was an emergency buy, the colour doesn't last like other brands, but for 2Euros who's complaining? WBA, when I need to!!

Fiasco - hope you enjoy catching up with your friend. Facebook is fantastic for that, I found my old best friend who emigrated to Canada 17 years ago and we had a reunion.

Have a good Saturday evening all

Count me in as usual please, my lovely!

:wave:I've got a bunch of potential UUs on the splutter and I'm very tempted by a new nail colour or two for holiday toes, but otherwise I'm still being restrained. If I'm not around much don't worry, I'm just trying to get more fresh air and exercise and spend less time huddled over a screen. :D I'll be reading even if I'm not saying much.

Charlie, try not to take not being able to find a job yet personally. We're in a downturn and there are a few million people in the same position as you. They're not exactly handing out jobs like smarties! (More's the pity) My husband had 25 years experience and still languished on the unemployment register for 9 months. He couldn't even get interviews so you're one step ahead of him. Chin up chick. It'll happen. Perhaps you could remind your fella that with thousands of people losing their jobs every week, the roles could be reversed in the future.

Love to all :heartpuls and here's to a good month ladies!

Thanks. I've had to fill one in before for work after someone tripped over their feet and broke their hip. That was a bit .
No I said we didn't need to fill in a RIDDOR as it's done by them if it's needed and he said it wouldn't harm to do it. When I checked it, it would be the injuries section to be filled in but DD had no broken bones so I don't think a RIDDOR would be done anyway. I just get the feeling from other peoples reactions that DH and I are not taking it seriously enough. Obviously we were very concerned when it happened but we're just very pleased she's not seriously damaged and we don't personally feel as though there is any fault anywhere. It's just a freak accident.

Charlie, so sorry you didn't get the job. Did they give you any indication why you didn't get it? There will be something eventually but it must be soul destroying not being able to get one.

We have an in today  because DH is incapable of looking in the stash. He has tons of deodorant but the one he's using now is almost out. So he's bought another one. I asked why he'd bought more and he said because he was nearly out. I have explained that there are many more in the drawer so he has to check the drawer before he goes out and buys stuff.

((((charlie)))) keep thinking positive and something will turn up. Have you had someone look over your CV? Your uni's career's service can do this for free (even though you have finished now). Or if you have no-one else to look at it feel free to PM/email it to me, I teach CV writing, but to teens/young adults not graduates though! Ring up and ask why you didn't get the job/ask for feedback so you can improve on something perhaps? Apply for any and every job going, it's normally easier to find a job whilst in employment. How about volunteering somewhere, looks good on CV and may lead to job?

I already have one IN for July I'm afraid - The Body Shop Coconut Body Lotion - in fairness I was using my £5 birthday month reward! I'm going to try not to buy anything else - someone tell me I don't need to use the £10 off when you spend £25 voucher...
