I know it's a bit of a diversion, but I got round to doing the Laundry Gloop.
It went so well that I want to share it!

If you Google 'laundry gloop' you can come up with various recipes/methods but here is mine:
Equipment req. 1 v. large saucepan (stockpot is ideal)
    1 wooden spoon
    Jug
Bucket or similar v. large plastic storage container with lid.
For the gloop: 1 bar of ordinary soap, finely grated
    8 oz washing soda
8oz borax (not essential but stops gloop from foaming and acts as deodoriser)
    9 litres hot water.
A few drops of essential oils (not necessary, but add a bit of scent)
    Method.
Grate the soap as finely as you can.
Put in the large pan and add one and a half litres of boiling water, bring to a simmer on the stove and stir until dissolved. When dissolved, add the washing soda and borax and stir until this is dissolved.
Remove from heat and allow to cool SLIGHTLY -I added lavender oil at this point - then pour into bucket or other large receptacle.
Add up to 8 litres of hot water, pop lid on and allow to set in a cool place.
Mine took about eight hours to set.
When set, it will look like blancmange.
Add a small cupful directly to the DRUM of your washing machine (not the dosing drawer) with the laundry.
If you have v.smelly laundry you may wish to add a scoop of Oxy -clean type granules to the dosing drawer.
Each washload will cost me about 2p, I calculated. It would have been 1p if I hadn't used the borax. I do use fabric softener but the laundry was clean and smelled clean. It's definitely worth a try!

I have some Ins as its my birthday today! S & G body butter set which is fab!

I also went to Poundland yesterday and got some of the CVS pharmacy moisturiser and glow lotion (fake tan).

Not sure if anyone is interested but there is a program on BBC2 tomorrow night 7.30pm called Wonderstuff, they are talking about what goes into beauty products (not sure if watching it is a good idea or not?!).

The S&G body butter set sounds great, happy pampering with that.

I have a nasty feeling that I missed Essex Hebridean's B'day - belated happies, and if I wished them before, well, have them again!

I will have a UU of some LHJ's by the end of the month - shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom rack will look a bit odd with the big 500ml shampoo bottle missing - it's been a fixture for a few years now!

I was watching this program last night called 'Extreme Sweets' (bear with me :p) and the presenter went to a Spa run by Hersheys - the chocolate people. They do a bath treatment called 'Whipped Hot Chocolate' where they put chocolate bubble bath, dried milk powder and cocoa powder into a jacuzzi bath and then turn on the jets. It looked fab and I bet it smelt amazing :D The Spa girl said that the milk powder was very soothing for the skin. I may try it :D

One UU: Time Delay Eye Cream: WIBA? I have one already in my stash. 15ml tube lasted me about 5 months and as I got it for £2 using a skinny it is a good buy. Absorbs well on my skin and doesn't feel heavy or 'there'.

Have a great week all - try not to talk too much or I'll spend all next weekend catching up :rotfl::rotfl:

    OMG............

I used to be a full time comper which is where a lot of my stuff came from, however there is also an awful lot of stuff I have bought.

Having followed this thread all year I have got my stash down a fair bit and all the stuff hidden in the attic is now on plain view in a giant size plastic box in my bedroom.

Don't think I'll be buying much of anything for years to come!
