I have a teeny tiny UU: A 5ml tub of Chirocream, it's a larrvley foot cream that smells great. It has peppermint and lemongrass in along with other stuff. It's now sold on tubes rather than tubs but I'd prefer it in a tub. WIBA? Well this was from mum's partner who's a chiropodist and picks up freebies and samples when buying equipment. I have no idea if it's available in any shops but I could probably get some online.

I really like the eye cream I'm trialling, isn't that just the Law of Sod in full and glorious action, as I will never know what it actually is! It even has a pleasant smell.
I am so pleased to hear about Little Dog, Sarah, We couldn't find the dose of insulin to treat my cockatiel for diabetes and although he lasted several years with it, it wasn't fair. I always felt I let him down. Mind you injecting him would not have been fun - the chief nickname of his many nicknames was Thuglet...

Good morning all. I went to Superdrug yesterday but only picked up cotton wool pads and the new Very Very Pink Impulse spray for Emma.

How's everyone getting on with the Garnier face cream test? I'm gonna give up on it as it's still stinging slightly when I apply it. I've had this sensation now with this and with the TBS seaweed cleanser - hope my skin's not becoming sensitive all of a sudden. Anyway if anyone wants the rest of the sachets they are welcome to them. PM me and I'll send them on. It's also not working as well as my beloved Elemis PCMC (going to go into my stash this am and take out my last pot) as I can see my lines creeping back. Am glad really because even though I have found cheaper alternatives to my cleanser and toner I don't want to compromise on this moisturiser so boo to you MrM. Must email Garnier tonight.

Was wondering what makes a HG product for all you ladies? For me first off is the fragrance. If I dislike the smell of a product I can't get past this - whether it's effective or not. Next is the texture - has to feel right yes? If these two boxes are ticked I think about value and even then I'll try and find something more cost effective - the Weleda cleanser is an example of this. :money: Mind you, saying that my cleanser quest is to find something similar to LE C&P (in it's original formula) as I love the Eucalyptus fragrance. Yesterday I came across This Works cleanser which contains this. Anyone tried this?

    Have a good day everybody.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Dr_Roberto I like the different coloured ring finger... stealing the idea sometime :P

I bought accessorise illusions pink spice yesterday. It's really cool! Pink glitter that shines orange/gold in the light. I'll attempt to take a good picture but it's a bit hard to show!

Probably going to pick up a few more :o I like the purple/green, purple/blue and blue/green.

I do need to make sure I use old nail varnishes though. I have several that have been bought, used immediately and then not since then!

Also I went into bodyshop and was tempted by various nice smelling things but came out empty handed (well except for the hemp cream I tried spread on my hands :p) I'd order online for money off if i wanted anything so i think that was a good deterrent!

I'm just the same as you Valm. The aroma is really important - at the moment the crabtree and evelyn la source foot scrub smells like toilet cleaner to me and I can barely stand to use it - the la source foot cream is nice though -strange!
Also the texture has to be right. I have tried many body butters over the years and the best texture for me are the L'occitane BB's -costs more but buyings it it the sales generally means it works out the same price as a body shop one.
What is the weleda cleanser like and it is very "almondy" in its aroma? Is it a cream or a lotion?
I too love Eucalyptus especially the Molton Brown Eucalyptus shower gel -heaven! Will see if there are any reviews of the This Works cleanser.

Anybody had chance to look at my last post:o and look at the link?

Yes Bev, did look at the link! Some useful hints, though I was disappointed not to find any Aldi Lacura products in the list - particularly the serums. Sali is a good writer isn't she?
Just a thought, if you like eucalyptus have you thought of adding eucalyptus oil to products to get that scent? Wilko's do tea-tree, lavender and eucalyptus essential oils in 10 mls very cheaply.

Thanks mcculloch! I think some of the posts mention Aldi night cream, serum and body cream and there are 97 posts for this one article. They should all come and join this thread!:D

I have got some eucalyptus essential oil but they can vary widely in quality and there are many different varieties. I have found an organic oil supplier and would try some of theirs in a very small quantity in a facial oil probably mixed with two other complementary oils and try it out. Need to use up my stash first but nearly at the end of my last serum:j

Also have reduced my stash through gifting:
    OUT::T
    L’occitane Olive Shower Cream
    L’occitane Olive Body Lotion
L’occitane Orange Honey Shea Butter Body Cream
L’occitane Orange Honey Shea Butter Body Balm
L’occitane Orange Honey Shea Butter Soap

    IN:o

Gatineau Tan Accelerating Lotion 250ml ( to prepare my skin for the portugese heat next month!)

I'm feeling quite virtuous to have avoided all the BS 50% + 50% sales - still tempted but avoiding :p

I have one small IN: A Dry Shampoo from Home Bargains for 79p - no brand name it just says 'Dry Shampoo' :rotfl: Smells of 'Festival' apparently - whatever that means :D

Would worry it smells of mud and sweat in that case :rotfl: do let us know, won't you :D:rotfl::eek:.

Is it just me that thinks sawan is definately addicted - posting from India :D Lovely to hear from you though x

Great news about your dog - Sarah :T
    Hi all,

I know this is probably not the place to post this but was wondering your ideas might be able to assist me.

I have a lot of unwanted toiletries i.e hair products, skin products, eye cream, nail varnishes, lip glosses, hand cream.
Mostly are used, I don't think charity shops except these due to hygenic reasons but surely somewhere would appreciate these? I tried to sell them at a boot sale yesterday and quite a few went but am left with 2 shoe boxes filled with products. It feels a waste to just chuck them in the bin...

Anyway any help would be great! :)

I gave some of mine (too heavy to swap and post via FB) away on freegle (freecycle). The woman who picked them up was so grateful at the chance to pamper herself.
I really like the eye cream I'm trialling, isn't that just the Law of Sod in full and glorious action, as I will never know what it actually is! It even has a pleasant smell.

Same here - I trialed a sensitive face cream - that actually works very well for me - but no way of knowing what it actually is :(

I agree the smell is so important. My HG Body shop passion fruit cleansing gel smells divine :), feels lovely on the skin (texture) and has no reactions except to leave my skin feeling soft and clean without feeling tight.

Tried the new Avon hair dye yesterday - I liked the dye itself, though it was odd having to apply a pre-treatment (cream) to dry hair before using the actual dye. It smelt much nicer than a lot of dyes I've used, and there was a lot of it - too much for my short hair, so if I used it again, I'd only use half (which is why I've washed out and kept the plastic bottle).

My only negative, is that its not as red as I hoped (deep red mahogany) and looks more brown than I wanted.
