Tesco office, and therefore the customer service senior manager should have let the petrol station manager know, they should also get a separate email from head office with the full brief on. Then all staff should be briefed of the offer and the conditions.

There are 3 'shoulds' in that - and we all know that Tesco are pretty useless when it comes to what they SHOULD do!

this is as usual as clear as mud, what point seems to be missed maybe is that Tesco are not doing this to "save us" money, Tuna, over priced usually BOGOF when most people normally buy real saving???

coke £10 for 30 cans (33.3p a tin), if you are into buying that much in cans at a time then morrisons are 2 x30 for £15 (25p a tin) , then take the £5 you saved there and use it towards your petrol ( yes tesco would be of equivalent value for putting 100 litres ie £135 of fuel in the car or 2 lots of 50 litres if you bought 2 lots at tesco)

or it you have to go to Tesco buy 2 x 12 pack at tesco, if you want to use it towards you £50 spend for £7 (29.1p a can)that alone is a saving IN tesco of 4.2 p a can the price of the 30 box

yes if you are going to spend £50 anyway then ok thats fine but the others just fooling people into thinking they are making money from mr T
but if you put in your till reciept into the pricechecker you will get money back as its cheaper in asda.
life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.

sorry money back on what ? 30 box is 10.80 showing on my asda
post has alredy stated tuna is price matched at tesco now,

but that was not the point
the 12 pack BOGOF works out better value than buying the 30 box in tesco and if you wanted the 30 box Morrisons is still better value

Thought I'd check out the staff knowledge of this offer while getting yet another DTD on the stripey glasses! CS girl said she didn't think you could use more than one voucher so phoned across to the petrol station. SA in the petrol station said no so I informed the CS girl that their own website says it. To say she nearly keeled with shock when I showed her the Tesco website is an understatement. She then phoned a manager who had to check the website and although he'd never heard of it, he said as long as it was on their website then that's what's correct. He was off to phone the petrol station to inform them.

Looking forward to when I actually have to use my vouchers as by then the staff will still be as clueless due to the monkeys they hire as management not informing their staff of promotions.

I think that's all you can do - refer them to their own website. They haven't bothered to update the wording on either the tillspits or the pre-printed ones you get for £50+ online delivery, BUT, as stated above, their own website states as clearly as possible, that you can use up to three in one transaction.

Best defence if queried, is refer them to their own website. If they still play up, email customer services and properly kick-off - you'll probably get an 'inconvenience' compensation £5 plus what you should have got in the petrol station.

But agreed, they are abysmal at updating their own staff of promotions.

Quote from mymerrywidow today on other thread
i got a pack of coke and my son got a pack of coke and i drove to the petrol staiton and got 10p of my petrol. input the till reciepts into the price checker and will get money back today as well.

What was the price yesterday/before on ASDA that enabled JTD? I did ask on the other thread and am genuinely interested as I have a receipt from Friday?
    I can only see T's = £10 and A's = £10.80 so no JTD?

    TIA :) xx

Well I got a free fiver from Tesco today along with two petrol vouchers. Bought a car seat, which took me over £50 so used a £5 off a £50 shop till spit, and received a fuel voucher. I then found out that the car seat was cheaper on Tesco direct, so I took it back to the store and ended up getting a full refund - they didn't take off the £5 voucher, and I got to keep the fuel voucher :D

The other voucher came from the Princes tuna - still marked up at £5 but goes through at £4 - was kind of hoping it went through at £5 so I could show them the online price and get DTD... now that really would be a saving!

One thing I want to point out though, is that the vouchers are not always worth the extra outlay - is everyone working it out before they buy? As it seems that some people aren't.

Basically, the Coke cans are a complete waste of money (as has been pointed out earlier!) - it doesn't matter if you were planning to buy them anyway, as you can buy them much cheaper both from Tesco and other supermarkets.

The tuna may be worth it...

For me, it wasn't worth buying at £5, but is just worth it at £4.

I buy Value tuna as I only cover it in mayo anyway, so for 4 tins (currently 45p, although usually more like 60p) I would spend £1.80, meaning that I've spent £2.20 extra to get this voucher. Remember that if you wouldn't have bought tuna anyway you have just paid £4 for the voucher!

My tank holds 50 litres, so I will wait till I'm very low on petrol and put say 47 litres in (it's never going to get completely empty!) - the fuel voucher would thus save me £2.35 - a saving of 15p! (19p if you count the clubcard points earned from buying the tuna! :D).

TBH, my savings are negligible so it was hardly worth buying - it's only really worth it if you have a big car.
Also, the only reason I will fill my tank completely is because I'm going on holiday soon so will actually need a full tank - It's not worth me doing it otherwise as the weight of the petrol in the car affects the fuel efficiency... has everyone taken that into consideration?

I don't mean to sound negative, just trying to show that unless you really work it out, you may end up losing money.
