either try a large magnet or a pair of plyers - you will need to put some brute force into it- but the tag will come off eventually0

I think you have 2 choices, either take them back as the shop suggests or ask another shop to take it off for you if you can't get it off yourself. What did you expect the cash and carry to do ?0

i did say constructive advice - chilling is not constructive and does not help my situation.
And yes i have tried to remove the device myself, unfortunatly i do not have any bolt cutters on me, have never needed to use them for some strange reason !
Security tags are easily removed...without bolt cutters...unless you are a Drama Queen. Do you have any male friends you can ask to do it? Is that constructive enough?0 -
Yes, I too would be interested to hear the answer to that.Equaliser123 wrote: »Sort the problem without inconveniencing the person who bought the item???
Have you any tips that the OP can pass back to the cash and carry?
(other than the generic "please fix the problem without inconveniencing me")0 -
I bought some M&Ms from the M&M store in las vegas.
When i got home, one of the sweets had a chipped sort of edge on it.
Do you think i could claim the £700 return fare plus a few nights at the MGM to return it.
My daughter/son was very upset and has had nightmares since the incident.?
Oh, and bed wetting but i have put it down to my age.0 -
I work for a well known high street retailer and we got a phone call from a customer with the same thing, the security tag had been left on a suit he needed for the next day. I was sent out to his home with a colleague and mobile tag remover, checked his receipt then removed it for him. I think the shop should be bending over backwards for you since its their fault. Surely it's part of the staff's job to check these things when at the checkout.0

Oh....... and there are plenty of people who ask for their expenses reimbursed when they have to return a faulty item.0
