It's an accident. I doubt that this was something done on purpose and assuming Primark refund you and apologise then I don't see what else they should be expected to do. I doubt anyone else (trading standards et al)would do anything about it either.

If your really miffed about it then don't shop there and tell family not to buy your children clothes from there.

How have we got to this?

I had a splinter in my little finger from a friends front door earlier today. What should I do?

I tell you what I did. I mentioned it to him, he gave me a plaster, a TCP wipe and some tweezers. I sat in his kitchen and pulled the splinter out, rubbed my finger with the TCP wipe and held it there whilst the little drop of blood dried up.

Whilst I was doing this he went out to the shed, got a bit of sandpaper and sanded the affected area of the door edge.
He came back int the kitchen and I gave him the plaster back as I ha no use for it.

No lasting damage done, no problem. I didnt go screaming to the first no win no fee solicitor I could find. I accepted it as just one of those things.

The sooner people stop looking for compensation for every little minor ailment, and te sooner these ambulance chasing companies are shut down for good, the better off this country will be.
[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Then its your fault for not noticing a fault, Puting your childs life in danger with a pair of jeans.

Why would a sharp edge on a button be noticeable when using an iron on the denim?

Do you iron your buttons with your fingers?

I would expect to be reassured that all stock is checked to ensure this wasn't a faulty batch.

Where was compensation mentioned? I believe the OP wanted Primark to issue a recall. A recall would be very extreme if this was the first complaint.

Also, as 2 stitches were needed and will likely leave a scar, compensation would be a possibility. Although i would not personally pursue it.

..the OP did say what can I ask them to offer me?

My mom bought my little lad (4) 2 pairs of jeans from Primark about 2 moths ago. All ok - he had a pair on the other day and he came to me with his thumb pouring with blood and he said he cut it on his jeans!

I immediately got the jeans off him and yes, he had infact cut his thumb on these stupid jeans!!! One of the buttons on the side was so sharp I nearly cut my ow finger on it!

I am absolutely horrified at this and just wondered what my rights are? I know they are over Primark's normal 28 return policy but I'm taking them back on the basis that maybe they can recall them as I wouldn't want any other parents having their poor children running to them with a cut open finger!

What ca I ask them to offer me as I don't particularly want any more jeans from them!!!! Can I threaten them with further action if I do not get a satisfactory response on the day?

Sorry for going on - but I wanted to explain properly.

    Thanks

I took that to mean a refund as they also said that they do not want another pair of jeans suggesting that they were only expecting Primark to offer a replacement.

Was it damaged in your washing machine? Buttons on jeans seem very vulnerable in our washer and dryer.

Really? I read it differently...I read it as what can I ask for and what can I get if I don't get what I want. Nobody seems to have noticed that the OP is not the customer and is therefore due...nothing.
