My son's cut open finger on pair of Primark jeans!!!

My mom bought my little lad (4) 2 pairs of jeans from Primark about 2 moths ago. All ok - he had a pair on the other day and he came to me with his thumb pouring with blood and he said he cut it on his jeans!

I immediately got the jeans off him and yes, he had infact cut his thumb on these stupid jeans!!! One of the buttons on the side was so sharp I nearly cut my ow finger on it!

I am absolutely horrified at this and just wondered what my rights are? I know they are over Primark's normal 28 return policy but I'm taking them back on the basis that maybe they can recall them as I wouldn't want any other parents having their poor children running to them with a cut open finger!

What ca I ask them to offer me as I don't particularly want any more jeans from them!!!! Can I threaten them with further action if I do not get a satisfactory response on the day?

Sorry for going on - but I wanted to explain properly.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply - they put 2 stitches in it and said it will be ok.

The refund isn't what I'm bothered about, I could't care less about the money. It's the fact that my little boy has been injured due to their lack of detail and making of jeans!! I really wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else ..

I'd put it down to one of those things...after all you didn't notice the problem when you were ironing them?

I'm not one for all this think of the children! nonsense. But being attacked by your own clothes is a bit much. Having said that I'm not one for compo for emotional distress either. I think you should return the jeans, get a full refund, contact trading standards and never shop somewhere as shit as Primark again, MrsC. That must have been horrible for your little boy and I'm glad to hear he's OK.

PS. I also iron inside out and wouldn't have noticed.
