Does the monitor have built-in speakers?
What input connectors does the monitor have?
Make/model of the monitor?604!0 -
its a dell monitor with seperate speakers which normally plug into a pc, it has 2 usb connections a 3 pin power plug, i think it has a usb type connection that normally to the pc and the connection that is normally in there has 18 pins that is seperated into 2 squares of 9 pins
hope that all makes sense0 -
Does your 18 pin connector look like one of these? If so which one?

its a DVI-D dual link

You would get video from a Freeview (HD) set top box using an HDMI to DVI cable. Audio might be a bit trickier though. What is the model no. of your Dell monitor?604!0

To get TV audio you would have to have additional hardware. Do you have an audio system near to where you want to use the monitor as a TV?604!0

It's going to be quite complicated. You'd be looking at something along the lines of a Freeview box with stereo RCA phono out. You would connect the Freeview video to the TV using an HDMI/DVI cable. To get the audio you would connect the RCA phono stereo (red/white) to a set of powered speakers like these http://www.zoodex.co.uk/logitech_980-000355.html604!0
