:hello: Welcome annem, kymbo82, flower91today and Changingme! Its good to see so many new faces joining us, although probably not good as it means people are having to tighten purse strings

    welcome back catznine

re budgets, as already said, there's no point in comparing really as circumstances are so different; I live in the country, I don't have a car, decent sm's are a long bus trip so I don't get chance of whoopsies, and often miss special offers unless I see them on here  my only local shop is an overpriced, understocked c00p

I could reduce my budget quite a bit but I'm lucky that I don't need to and I don't want to. There's no element of competition on the GC, the only person you're competing with is yourself :D
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

I know there is a different section for deals, but if anyone sees anything for : Toilet Roll, Dishwasher Tablets, Shampoo/Conditioner, or Washing Powder, could you mention that you've seen it, so I know to look? Think those are the things I could save most on in direct outlay if I can get deals.
lidl have a 24 pack of thick loo rolls at £6.99. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/7067_22441.htm
i think their dishwashing tablets and washing powder is always good value.

...and the supermarket :D. We all want to keep a budget. I use this as an opportunity to be inventive and creative instead of buying what the supermarket wants me to. It is a case of being conscious of what you are buying/cooking/spending. Of being alert and present in the experience instead of passive.

Personally I find it wonderful when someone posts that they went in to a shop and bought what was on their list then left. How many thousands of pounds are spent by the supermarkets to try to stop that happening? With all their evil arts.

    Weekly shop done. Signature updated.

Best wishes as always to Spigs and Hippeechiq. x

    Hi,
I did a shop at asda last week, usually I go to tesco's and according to their price challenge I saved £8 but it's a bit out of the way and tesco is just round the corner
if you prefer tescos and you really do save money shopping at asda then do the tesco price check and get a voucher for the difference. or before you go shopping in tesco check what items are cheaper in asda and pay for them separately for the maximum voucher back.
theres a thread on here in the grabbit board that explains more about it.

you could be describing me, only we dont eat it all most of its in the freezer and cupboards so please can i join in this month with £250 which would seem like a doable amount until i confess that i have been out today and spent £23 in lidl and spent £32 yesterday. so i have £195 left:(
