Afternoon everyone
Sunny but a bit breez here today. Not getting a chance to post everyday but try to read most days.
DS2 came home from school trip yesterday so wm has been in overdrive as most things were wet. 1 load already dry second lot about to be hung out. have made cottage pie for tea, base is cooking in sc as we speak. got another couple of applicaton forms to do today as well.
Worked last night ended up doing an extra hour and half as it was so busy. anyway the good news is I got the lunchtime assistant job so Idont need to carry on with the other job much longer. I also had a call from the local college as I had made enq about doing a TA course, however not sure if I can afford it at £1200 as there is no government funding anymore and they want £600 onenrolment then 2 lots of £300,so much for helping people to get skills for work.

Hi Chums no news from Davy in France yet,a bit worrying, but I don't want to bother him, he will ring me when he's ready to talk bless him.
DD and I went to Maidstone as planned and she got a couple of dresses two sizes smaller than she had last year which cheered her up no end Then we took the boys into Maidstone Museum and its really good (and free) which is even better then DD treated us all to lunch bless her and tonight before I came home she had to pop up the road to get some extra milk and came back with a big bunch of beautiful red carnations (she knows they are my favourite flowers) She really is a dear soul and I'm so lucky to call her my DD along with her sister who phoned me on her way to work this morning before 8.00.a.m. just to tell me how much she loved me .Bless them, they are little treasures.
Mikey when picked up from school was a bit miffed because he had missed out on a trip to Maidstone and lunch so I am taking him for his treat on Saturday (would you believe a Happy meal at MaccyDs) it is a treat for him as his Mum and I aren't keen on junk food, but now and again won't hurt. Then in the afternoon I will take the three youngest to their school fete I like to support the schools as it helps with the treats for the children at Christmas.
Still full from lunch, so I don't think I will cook tonight probably have some fruit later on.
Right I'm off to put my feet up and watch some news as I haven't seen any all day
have a good evening all
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Hola! :hello:
Been busy today, our friends/visitors went home yesterday, so done beach and bathroom towels, and bedding today. We had a little warm breeze today so they dried in no time. Decided to spring clean the beds, so mattress and pillowcase covers will be going in tomorrow.
Just had a large salad for tea, didn't know what I fancied so just had a raid of the fridge and had bits of everything. Need a small shop tomorrow.
(((Jackie-G & family & Lou & family)))
Lou - hope you got some good news today.
Hope you hear from your brother soon Jackie-0
DS & GF are still floating high on their offer being accepted for the flat, :T:T:T  there were messages going backwards and forwards (thank heavens I have wi-fi out here which lets the Blackberry connect via BB mail, and I paid an extra £5 so that I could received calls on my mobile free, and as DS has "free" minutes it was no extra cost). We were discussing their offer, and pitched it just enough it sounds like, as the EA told him today that the offer was below what they had in mind, but as he had no chain, and a Mortgage in Principal in place (just via advice from Mum :A) they accepted. I was recommended to this firm by a neighbour out here and they came up good, both on the mortgage and solicitor. We had to stand on our head on Friday as the mortgage which was best for them was going to be withdrawn, so had to get an application in PDQ.
Enough rambling from me, take care all. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Well I am back to unburdern myself, thanks to those of you who have sent good wishes, and to those to whom I have already offloaded in private :A
My brother in law was told yesterday that he does have cancer after all. We are pretty devastated to say the least., but he and my sister are being pretty amazing and matter of fact about it. I think they are just relieved to find out what it is, and have a way forward to look at. It has gone into his lymph nodes, and I shall be going to the care meeting with my sister tomorrow to find out what the treatment plan is. I have to say, that the care he has received has been great - the doctors have not been very efficient about diagnosis imo, - we have been secretly convinced it was cancer all along - but I could not fault the nursing staff. Today they have already been to sort out claims for additional benefits and explained to him what they can do, and offer support to him and my sister. I am very grateful and impressed.
My sister told her children this evening, which was pretty difficult as you can imagine, and I told my two. Of course, their main concern was, is he going to die. I hope we have allayed their fears for now. My parents are away for a couple of days, and back tomorrow, so they don't know yet, and she can't see our other sister until tomorrow, and doesn't want to do it over the phone, so please don't post on FB. Feels a bit weird to be talking about it while she doesn't know, but she doesn't even know MSE, and I desperately needed to put my thoughts down and get them out of my head. Who knows what the future holds, but he is only 40, and has everything to live for, and we will help him fight as hard as he can, every step of the way.
Can I ask you all to keep him in your prayers and thoughts, he's a big fan of the big guy, as JackieO would say, and would certainly appreciate them.
Jackie I hope Davy is doing OK and you get some news soon.
