Hi,
I'm confused
I've got a Halifax Home Plan ISA with UK Growth Fund Class B shares in it.
On the HBOS or BOS site it shows three classes A, B and C of these funds but when I say look on FT.com under managed funds I can only see class C?
BOS site is http://www.bosinvestment.co.uk/pages/fund_perf_oeics
I'm really trying to see how it's progressing against other funds.

Bank investment fund - going to be naff without even checking.
However, when I did check it is rated 572 out of 650 that were registered for business for 12 months to end of November 2006 (source: Lipper)
At no point in it's life has it ever made top half performance. It is a consistent below sector average performing fund and will probably always be that way because it is a HBOS fund.
You have to be looking to transfer it out ASAP into a better fund spread.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Doh!
I'm a rank amateur when it comes to transferring - does this mean just of UK Growth Fund or outta Halifax Investment Fund Managers? Put another way, how practically do I go about trasferring?
BTW, I couldn't find it on Lipper either - do you have to be registered to see this - if not, what is the link?

None of Halifax's funds are any good so it would be a provider transfer. That is generally the case with any of the bank funds. You just shouldnt invest with banks and building societies. The very few good funds that exist are available on the independent market so you arent going to miss out although I can only think of two funds that may come close to being considered in any portfolio which are issued by banks. And ironically, I doubt either are actually recommended by many bank advisers due to the way they are restricted on giving investment advice.
As for transferring, this would mean picking a fund supermarket (the modern way of investing) and picking a spread of funds with the value being transferred and choosing where you want future contributions made. If your value was £5000, then you would pick £1000 per fund giving you 5 funds. The monthly contributions tend to have £50per fund minimum so you may find ongoing transactions wont be able to spread as much.BTW, I couldn't find it on Lipper either - do you have to be registered to see this - if not, what is the link?
Being an IFA I pay for my data and have software that is more detailed and more complete than the free feeds you tend to see. There would be no point in these companies charging us for it if I could just go to the website and get it for free.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
