Hi all,
I get to upgrade on 4th of july with 02.. i have iphone 3g. Now all i want is the Iphone 4 as i think the iphone is awsome. but what can i do as they are not offering it for free if i seach on the website unless i pay more than 35 quid which i pay now. Think to get it free you have to go on the 60 quid contract.
3 has phone me and offerd the white iphone (free) 300 min 5k texts and 500mb 24 months they said there be no 100 quid upfront cost but their website says diffrently!!! but he said "no upfront cost" so know those cheeky **** it be added onto 1st bill.
So what could i say or do to O2 to haggle the phone free and poss bring price down but dont mind if i have to stay in the 35 quid contrat.. thanks in advance peeps:beer:

Unlikely you'll get it for free at that sort of price unless you over spend on your bill. Harsh as it seems none of the networks care for loyalty unless you make the money back up somehow.
I work for O2 and recently suggested my auntie get a 3 pay and go sim and try it because their offering is so much better than O2's , only network digging their heels in with no price drops.
I once asked a college why O2 seem to have no intention of getting in line, and he put it in a really good way, its supply and demand, if people are still willing to go for the offer at the price it is currently at, why drop it?0 -
ok!! i prob leave them im sure they might offer me summint... you can get it free for 40 quid contract else where

Ask for your pac and see what happens. You've nothing to loose.0

I'm due to upgrade on 3rd July, O2. Phoned them up to request PAC so I could shop around and they offered a couple of deals on iPhone 4 and Samsung Gal S2 (undecided!) while I was on the phone.
The handset wasn't free (£92 on a £37 contract for iPhone 4, though it is one of these 'deals' only valid during that phonecall - I hate it when people expect you to just sign up there and then), but I don't mind paying a 2-figure sum if it works out ok for the monthly tariff. No way will I pay a 3-figure sum.
They did say that if you can find a cheaper deal on another provider's website (has to be on their website e.g. Vodafone) they will try to price-match, the lady I spoke to said it was worth trying before deciding to move.
The main things for me is a) UK-based call centre and b) good coverage. Tried 3 and O2 so far in last 4 years and terrible coverage at home and work - O2 say it could be the phone I have (Samsung Tocco) or the old SIM but I'm not convinced!0 -

Hmm now let me see
24*£35+£100= £940
24*£60+0 =£1440
so to my mind this free handset is going to cost you £500 :eek:0
