They say they have a defence, that doesn't make the OP a liar.Perhaps the OP is telling the truth? He may or may not have proof, but that's not what a vent is about.0

You could pay £10 and request a copy of the cctv.In theory he is legally obliged to provide it,speak to the Information commissioners office.
You only have a right to CCTV footage under the DPA if the footage is of yourself. I don't think footage of your car would be classed as 'personal information under the DPA0 -
yes possibly, and if that is the case,it could be viewed by the OP after all?0

I had a similar situation happen to me once when I took my car in to a local garage for a minor repair.I took note of the mileage before I dropped it off, when I got it back it had clocked up 32 miles!
I let them know that I was aware the mileage had mysteriously shot up and questioned them on the spot. It was only minor mileage but untruths had been told, it was all denied and I'll be very hesitant to trust them with my car again without at least taking a written note of the mileage with them present.
For the poster, it seems like it's really not worth the hassle trying to prove it, they'll just keep denying..your absence of business, along with others they have done this too will eventually come back and bite them in the nether regions!..
My parents also had their car used for transporting parcels around the country!
The tell-tale signs: (aside from the obvious clocked up mileage) are:
1) Back seats left down, with bits of label, dirt, and cardboard box present (for transporting items. Silly company, blindingly obvious this one!)
2) Car being in repair for an unusually long time (excuses used such as 'we should be all done by tomorrow luv', followed after a couple of days by 'yep, just struggling with the'..bla, blah,..'then we'll ring you when it's ready'. etc, etc).
3) Car not where they state it is at their storage car park, when it pulls up for customer to pick up and take home the brake discs are red hot, and the workshop is only next door!
..anyone think of anymore, wittier ones no doubt! :rotfl:0 -
Ah - the post returns.
I still call Troll on the OP who hasn't returned with any evidence but was happy to name/shame a company and MD.
We all know this happens on occasions but this one seemed a little far-fetched/too happy to share the bad news0
