We once used a hotel secure parking which was offsite. They lost our car!(they did eventually find it).
  • Please see the letter below as an example of the dismissive nature of any issue you log with this useless company. I am now taking civil and criminal action against these fools as quite frankly, they are not to be trusted.

    Dear Mr. X

Many thanks for your email dated 27th June 2011. We have noted the comments you make.

We are pleased to confirm that we have now received the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) data from Bristol.

Your car (Registration Number: X) is verified as entering the secure parking facility at 10:46 on 24th June, 2011 and leaving at 23:02 on 26th June, 2011. The car did not leave the secure parking facility between these times. The distance from the Meet & Greet collection point to the secure storage facility is approximately 450 metres (900 metres including return).

I note the information provided with regard to a tracking device fitted to your vehicle. We would be happy to review this information and ascertain that our ANPR data confirms the movements of your car whilst in the care of Bristol Meet & Greet Advance. Should you not wish to pass this information to us then we are more than happy for an independent 3rd party (in this case Avon & Somerset Constabulary) to review the data. If the independently verified data from your tracking device does not concur with the ANPR data to the satisfaction of the police, we would be more than happy to continue with our efforts to resolve the issue and compensate you for any potential claim.

Regarding your comment that we have breached our contract with you, I would point out that your booking was made from the Bristol airport website and as such is bound by the booking contract in place on that site. For the terms & conditions relating to the service provided whilst your car was in the care of this provider I can refer you to the following page: on the site where you made the original booking.

Please rest assured that we are committed to resolving the issue with a satisfactory outcome in line with our customer first policy.

    Yours Sincerely

    Dean Pailing (Director)

You could pay £10 and request a copy of the cctv.In theory he is legally obliged to provide it,speak to the Information commissioners office.

OK - so now they've called your bluff. What evidence do you actually have to back up the 97 miles claim.

A quick search on Mr Pailing and his company don't flag up any complaints or suggestions of poor practise and the company's been operating for a number of years
  • A car parking company who probably deal with hundreds of cars each day, yet they were able to remember one car in particular and recall that "the gear change was heavy".
That's quite a memory feat, especially as they only drove the car 450 metres each way.
You could pay £10 and request a copy of the cctv
All they would probably supply is a copy of the footage showing the car entering and leaving the carpark at the correct times.
There still wouldn't be any way to prove if it stayed there the whole time.
The only way to do this would be to get a copy of the entire footage for the time the car was in their care, something which I'm sure thay wouldn't have to supply.

Worrying, cars found parked at a " scruffy housing estate in Crawley",exactly what Vikingaero said.
Skyparksecure looked quite good, on paper, until that! (Found that link on skyparksecures wiki page)

I've no vested interest but to be fair that article was about a subcontractor 2 years ago and there doesn't appear to be much dirt since then - they're either very good at providing a service or very good at burying bad reviews.

I'm interested in the where the proof of 97 miles is or whether we just have ourselves a Troll

But in this instance the service provider claims to have clear evidence of where the car was.

I'm interested in this as I use a similar service (but not this company) on a weekly basis and thought I'd been stung last year when I received a PCN from Poole when my car was in Manchester. Luckily a quick picture proved it wasn't my car (or registration even) but since then I have a weekly pic of my mileage when I leave my car, the tank is generally as close to empty as I can get it and it's never done more than 1.5miles during the time I've left it.

My question stands - how does the (brand new) OP know that 97 miles was done ?

Well yes, they did claim to have clear evidence, of where the car was,so they claim, but they also claim data protection ,which may be rather economical with the truth. The poster is new,but that proves nothing.Did you look at the watchdog video, this sort of thing is not unknown.I imagine the OP is going to say he looked at the speedo, when he left the car, well no crime in that.
    Somebody is mistaken.
