Santander problems!

Something that has probably been mentioned before, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!
Having problems with Santander after I switched to them last July. Their complaints department seem to be useless at the best of times and what doesn't help is that they're breaching their own terms and conditions when it suits them and them refusing to try and sort the problem out.
I have a court order stating that I'm owed £1500 plus costs, they're still refusing to pay, so I've written them a lovely little letter stating I'm giving them another 28 days or I 'may take further action, which may include, but will not be limited to debt collection agencies' and have received a phonecall from the same senior manager I spoke to a few weeks back stating that to sort any problem out I will need to go into branch.
I've popped into the branch to sort this out, and have been told that Santander have a death certificate for me, and have duly printed a copy. There are a few schoolboy errors, which should have been apparent from my passport (ex: I was born in Volgograd, Soviet Union, not Volgograd, Russia) however I can only sort this matter out by a valid copy of my will being seen for execution purposes etc. :rotfl:
My partner is also 'dead', with her certificate again stating the wrong country!
This is staff that I know, who have phoned Head Office to say I am living and that they want to get the problem sorted so I don't have to put up with them any longer, however Head Office are refusing to shift on the 'I'm dead' and they need to speak to the executor of the will (which is safely in the safe and my partner is the executor!)
I am on the point of going around the bend at the moment, so any advice would be useful!
Any advice?!!

It has been reported that the preparation for a plague of zombies was lacking . It is not surprising that Satander have been caught out by their perpetual failure to deal with complaints. Perhaps they have been infiltrated by a zombie mentality ?
J_B. Will the new F C A be so forgiving ?
I may have invented the last acronym. I was almost sure that the S from the FSA went and the new F stood for freaking. The C stood for change or was it cop-out ?

How have they got hold of this dead cert? It would seem that to any financial institution, a customer being dead would certainly slow down a complaint. I appreciate that you're not! However, I can only imagine the amount of "computer says no" the staff have to go through when they try and do anything with your accounts. I imagine that convincing the computer of your vitality is the first step!0

I'd send bailiffs into their busiest branch to seize equipment. It's not as if any of their staff know how to use the kit.0

How have they got hold of this dead cert?
I thought it was some sick joke to start, however it would seem that with the responsiveness of their complaints department already, anything that could go in their favour and stop them from damaging their profits, even by a small amount (to them, anyway) would go a long way!
The problem is they just won't listen, I'm still alive and kicking, however as far as their systems are concerned, I'm another statistic and an excuse for them to say no!
We'll sort it out, I just don't know how and don't ideally have the time nor patience to carry on with this!
Or maybe they want me to give up.............:(💙💛 💔0 -
Why not contact the Daily Mail? They like a nice santander-bashing story.0

One can only speculate who was more freaked out by this conversation - you being told of your own demise, or the bank employee conversing with a corpse! :eek:0 -
So do tell us all....assuming its a UK certificate.
Who was shown as the informant on the death certificate(s).
It will also give the name and address and the relationship of the informant to the 'deceased'.
Perhaps you should pay them a visit?
Perhaps also you should be informing the police and as previously suggested the Daily Mail.
Forgining of death certificates is a serious offense.0 -

The bank seemed more interested in sorting themselves out, and the fact I must be an impostor than actually sorting the problem out. Vika called them today and they are still only happy to sort anything out 'on seeing a will', then they have the cheek to phone me asking why the mortgage hasn't been paid (!)ChiefGrasscutter wrote: »So do tell us all....assuming its a UK certificate.

Due to the nature of what I do for a living, I'd rather not get the press involved at all, however it's showing as a Russian certificate (I was actually in Russia when it was signed!) however what beggars belief is that there's an English sounding name (that I haven't heard) took the form into the Ealing branch of Santander. I don't know anyone English in Ealing (only 3 Georgians that have lived in Spain for the last 20-odd years) so this gets more confusing.
The strangest part of this being that American Express and HSBC seem to think I'm alive and kicking! :rotfl:
Something that my partner just mentioned, how could I have left Russia using a Russian passport if I'm apparently dead, and surely the embassy in London (And the home office to sort my ILR) would have been informed if the certificate was genuine, as I don't hold a British passport!💙💛 💔0
