I don't think sticking them on Postal Orders would work, as I think stamps used in that way have to be stamped over by the Post Office. I think you have to buy the stamps as part of the postal order.
I think you'd be best waiting til the prices rise in April (if you can) then trying to sell them as they'll be worth more. In the mean time, use them to send lots of letters.
Are they just odd stamps, or are they sheets, or books? If they're books a local shopkeeper might take them to sell, if you could convince them they're not stolen and offer a bigger discount than Royal Mail do.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

Postal orders now are like cheques -ie they are made out for exact amount that you want and you cannot put any stamps on them or deface them in any way.0

I think you could only put up to 49p worth of stamps onto an old postal order, this was to allow you to make the pence total correct. If you need £x.01-49p then put stamps on, if you need £X.50-99p you had to get a 50p postal order too.
Have you thought about selling them on ebay? Do you sell a lot on ebay? Could you maybe use the stamps over the course of a year and bank the money you would have spent?0 -
