What is messed up is that a company is legally allowed to charge 4000% interest

Oh come on, if these companies didn't take these people's money then they would just waste on something else like cigarettes, booze and lottery tickets. It's a free country, nobody is forcing anybody to tske out a 4000% loan, although people seem to be falling over each other to do it.
  • Ended up making over £700 - enough for the passports and flights for the actual holiday!!

    and yet...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.

Oh yes, absolutely. One week's holiday in 5 years at a mate's apartment (free) is disgraceful. I'm ashamed. Happy?

It's only free if you are walking there.

You're blowing 700 on having a good time (plus spending money ) instead of repaying the people you owe money to.

I said the apartment was free. For £700 we got both passports, both flights and our spending money so it was hardly a luxury break.... We had a terrible year, NEEDED a break (our first in 5 years) and I made it my mission to "find" the money by selling things and literally bagging up coppers found in the flat.

Pay day loans are not annual loans, they have to put the annual interest by law. They're a business like everything else, supply and demand.
It's a shame that once someone finds themselves facing a pay day loan that a compulsory alert to this fantastic message board doesn't kick in.
