I Spoke to CCCS, They are going to ring me on wednesday with regards to the action I should take.. They said not to contact wonga but to clear any money out of my account and cancel the direct debit immediately.
I am going to take my debt problems seriously in future, I have been burying my head for too long ignoring it and its not healthy. I've never been good with money, Thats somthing I really want to change.Paid off all debts (apart from Student Loans)

You were told at 2.57pm to ring them NOW...... but you obviously didn't.
Please don't litter the forums asking for advice but ignoring everything you are being told, it's wasting people's time.
You would have had this sorted by now with an extension. Instead, you are in a deep hole.
Thanks alot, You seem like just the sort of person I'd like to get to know over a nice ale or two.. :rotfl:Paid off all debts (apart from Student Loans)

I'd still suggest you make a start on opening a new basic bank account with a new bank and moving your benefits to that before CCCS talk to you on Wednesday.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

indebtindevon - what happened; was the payment from Wonga taken out of your bank today or was it declined?0

One Peice of Advice. Don't take any sort of Loan out ever again. Not from someone on the street or a bank or financial institution.
Someone really needs to push the government to make it illegal to lend to someone on benefits. It's a hiding to nothing.
Even a simple T.V campaign which clearly highlights the problems with borrowing etc. People will not pay attention or read unless the warning smacks them in the face. The thing that makes me sick is that there are people who spend their benefit money on drugs, alcohol and fags and then borrows for food. People seriously need to get a grip of their lives.
P.s OP I am not saying you are one of them,0 -
Sounds to me like you owed money to someone a lot scarier than wonga so I can understand why you were desperate enough to do it, but please take the advice above about changing the way you deal with money. I'm approaching the end of my 3rd year on a DMP with CCCS and I'm frankly amazed that you even GOT the loan from wonga! I wouldn't stand a chance (not that I would want to!!)
Let CCCS help you out of this mess with wonga and be totally frank with them about your whole situation. I'm sure they can get your repayment plan back on track, or suggest a better alternative if that isn't working.
Once the worry of this has subsided a little, sit down and figure out what you're doing with your life. Get a job, get out there and make some money to enjoy yourself with for goodness sakes!DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

He will be in an unauthorised overdraft no doubt with a one-off charge for that and possibly daily charges like Halifax do when you are in an overdraft which considering his benefit money is due in next week and I'm assuming will be paid into the same account, will be swallowed up clearing up the deficit meaning he will not have a penny to even buy food/essentials with!
I think he knows full well the payment won't go through. If he had an overdraft faciltiy he wouldn't be in credit on his bank account by a few pence, especially considering how skint he said he was.indebtindevon wrote: »I Spoke to CCCS, They are going to ring me on wednesday with regards to the action I should take.. From what I can make out Wonga don't have a direct debit mandate on your bank account. They are using your debit card number to take payments from your bank account.I'd still suggest you make a start on opening a new basic bank account with a new bank and moving your benefits to that before CCCS talk to you on Wednesday.
I don't mean to sound high and mighty at all, but doesn't he just need to ring his bank and cancel his debit card? They would send through a new one and that's that. He could still withdraw funds from his bank account in person until the new card showed up, not that it sounds like he would be using it much. Why go to all the hassle of opening a new bank account? Just saying it how I see it.0
