I suppose that might be with ordinary choc but wouldn't truffles have other ingredients?Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Foods like chocolates with very high sugar content don't tend to 'go off' in a way that would be dangerous. They often change in appearance or texture but I'd be pretty shocked if they were unsafe to eat.
The test was on Tv the other week, results came back all clear on a chocolate bar. Still safe to eat even though it was passed its Best before.0 -
Not sure why kiwikaz needs any help! Just take it back and ask for a refund! It shouldnt be on the shelf 6 months out of date, thats very true, but for goodness sake, mistakes get made!! Also I wouldnt imagine that checking best before dates on chocolate would be something that is high on the list of priorities. Personally I always check dates on perishables because I want to get the longest life out of my fresh food, but I dont on anything else. However I would not get into such a state and start asking for help on a forum because I found some chocolate out of date!!!0

Just get over it.
It isn't illegal.
It is a Best BEFORE Date, not a use by or sell by.
If you are that bothered look before you buy.
The onus is on the shop to notify customers if a product is out of date, not the customer to be checking every single product they grab off a shelf.
Whilst I agree products that are past their BBD are not harmful, many start losing their flavour and just aren't as nice. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I think you should complain and hopefully you'll get some coupons of vouchers from them as "sorry"If you feel my post has been useful, " merci" would not go amiss.

I would personally take them back and ask for a refund.
To be honest, I've no problem eating food that has gone it's Best Before date, but your truffles was Novemeber 2010 that's a bit too far for my liking lol, that's 8 months after it's Best Before.
I've had foods that have been a month or so past it's BBD.
You're not happy, so just take them back and ask for a refund. Bring your receipt as proof, and the choccies of course
PS. What's HUKD?? (posted from Celebrate) Thank you to everyone!

They should not have even been on sale with a date of Nov 2010!!!!
They should of been destroyed, or sometime's they give them free to the staff. I know this as i worked for a large supermarket within the department for damaged or out of date stock.0 -
