Cost of unlocking blackberry
My friend is offering me her old blackberry bold but it's on Three and I'm not so I will need to unlock it. Having checked out the advice on the main site I can see that my best option is probably to have it unlocked at a market / independent phone shop.
I got a quote for £15 for unlocking it, but it seems a little steep to me. I only paid a fiver last time I had a phone unlocked, but then it was just a basic sony erricson. I didn't know whether it was more expensive as it's a blackberry.
Does £15 sound about right?

I got an unlock code from someone advertising on Ebay. Always a bit sceptical doing this but the guy was 100% genuine and the code cost £4. It was for a Blackberry Bold 9000 and very easy to do.0

With VF, when I upgrade my phones they have always unlocked my old phone for free. Ask him to try this with 3.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Thanks Spiro. Unfortunately Three Mobile ain't so nice... They wanted to charge £15.32 and make me wait up to 28 days to get the code. Even after my mate used the 'really, because my freind got it done for free on vodafone' line...
