Hertz Car Hire - Help needed!

Hi,

I've run into a problem with Hertz car rental in South Africa. They have charged me for extra days when they said they wouldn't charge me. Let me explain;

I hired a car online at Traveljigsaw from 16 Dec 2010 - 20 Dec 2010

I went to pick the car up at JHB airport on 16 Dec 2010, showed them my voucher which stated 16th - 20th Dec - 4 days.

The person behind the counter said that the car hire was showing on their system for 16th Dec - 24th Dec. I was honest and said that an error was made and asked if they could sort it out. The person behind the counter said to me that the voucher confirmed I had paid in full and that I should just use the car till the 24th Dec and I would not be charged for the extra days. So I Agreed

5 Month later, I receive a new charge on my Credit Card from Hertz for £97. I first thought it may be a speeding fine or something or other. I emailed them and they confirmed it was for "Extras" meaning the extra 4 days.

I've tried my best to explain the above to them and they won't budge. They obviously think they do play some part in it becuase they have said they will upgrade my next hire for free.

Please could you provide me with some advice on whereI stand with this and how far I can take it.

Cheers,

M

    u paid a broker (Jigsaw), broker pays Hertz..
    The extra has nothing to do with the rental, so you either ticked a box for somthing, or u picked up a penalty... If u didnt take extra days after your rental voucher expired, you cant be charged for it..

    Sorry I forgot to put in the part that after she said to me that I could take the car for the extra days at no cost... I agreed.

    Once I returned the car I was randomly charged £13 for something - probably fuel so i thought the charges were over so i binned the receipt!
