I am trying to load the software on this model
Ive initially downloaded the full drivers and installed ok, then i removed them and i have tried to reload the software but it goes to around 10% and then the program closes down
so the printer works but the only software loaded is Photoshop essential
i have tried removing and reinstalling this software but im getting nowhere
this very infuriating can anyone help what to do to so the hp software is 100% loaded

Ive tried both suggestions but no good
I have noticed when I restart the computer a program called ‘windows installer’ tries to load, and then something called scan also tries to load up straight after
Once it does this, a file called’ digital imager’ appears in the hpf390 folder.
How can I get rid of this, as this is most like the culprit?
Only other start programs are firewall, anti virus and vt timer all which have been around far a long time.0 -
Is the printer in warranty?0
-
nope, it was purchased in true mse style on ebay! but as i say it was working perfectly until i unistalled and resinstaled then all the problems started- it works fine with vista laptop still
i think some sort of block has got onto the installation as it installs around 10% but no more, the solution centre is not installed anymore.0 -
Download Revo Free version and uninstall the HP Software, it will then look for folders and registry entries etc, reboot if it asks to
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Try the HP software
If you have Windows 7 right click the set up file, click run as administrator, then choose advanced or custom install
If it installs only some, you may be able to go the advanced install route to try installing parts one at a time0 -
im on xp, sp3
with the HP software its all or nothing, no major options really
ive tried to uninstall with revo albeit on its custom level (moderate i think) i will have ago on the highest level tomorrow and see if that works
thanks for the suggestion.0 -
They are sort of seperate here

its just the top 2 downlaods- i went for the top one as it has the solution centre
its not a big problem, as printings is the same, but the solution centre gives a few more options for scanning, photocopying, maintenence etc, plus ive spent too much time to give up on some silly software!0 -
They seem to have stopped their live chat option and only provide e-mail support for in warranty products
Hope it goes well0 -
when i restart the compter it automatically tries to install something called 'scan' what is this as this may the problem?0
