t-mobile minimum period, before tariff downgrade on 18 month contract
You may want to check that your minimum period on your 18 month contract has not jumped from 11 months and then being able to downgrade, to 17 months being then able to downgrade.
t-mobiles terms and conditions if you read them are very worrying indeed.
if you recieved any t&c paperwork i strongly suggest that you read them as some hidden surprises may lurk.
why mobile companies are allowed to send out litreature relating to terms and conditions and not make them clear on a paper WHAT is actually CHANGING!!
Be wary before entering an 18th month contract as i am stuck on an 18 monnth 40 contract for 17months after they said i could change after 11months, but now the they have slyly changed this to no down until after 17 months and when i spoke to someone knowledgeable he basically said tough, your going to have to live with it as you wanted the free phone now you have to pay for it.
Apparently they have tweaked the t&cs to catch all "tariff moneysavers", be aware people.
I &$&^%£( do not like t-mobile anymore, im going to watchdog as they told me i could do stuff when i bought the phone/tariff 3 days ago and now i cant downgrade in 11 months.
is this binding against me??

Firstly if you only bought it 3 days ago you may still be in a period of "satisfaction or refund" from the retailer irrespective of the change of conditions and can simply return the phone to cancel the contract.
If that is not the case, then you still can cancel the deal if you can prove you were mislead over the contract terms.
They cannot sell you a phone telling you you can change tariff after 11 months if this was a lie.0 -
Hi I work for t-mobile and can assure you that you definitely CAN change your plan after 11 months there is no such thing as a 'no downward migration' policy for 17 months0

I can't understand how they can survive if they allow downgrade after 11 months - they're offering terrific cashback deals for the first 12 months of 18-month contracts, for example £4.99/month Samsung A330...
How can they make a profit? (I accept they'd make a pretty penny if everyone was like me and forgot to send in their cashback claims on time.)

How can any of them make a profit if the commission is greater than the annual rental? Only if the customer makes loads more calls than they anticipated, or due to inertia stays on the same deal for years. Do we need to feel sorry for them?veronarona wrote:How can they make a profit? thats not what CS said......... really sneaky.
a shame i never recorded my conversations..........
oh well, you live and learn to read the small print when it comes to tmobile :eek:0 -
woot woot, just cancelled with Tmobile about 5 mins ago, returned phone and told the guy in the outlet to shove it

i strongly urge EVERYBODY on tmobile to check your terms and consitions as in my frank conversation, you may be affected in ways you may not realise.
was told that any notices are given to customers on contract start and sent out to customers, but nobody reads them so they put all sorts of binding stuff in them.
lucky i got away, £40 for 17th months would have killed me.
never ever gonna touch them again!!
good luck if your stuck0 -
Good news.
For the benefit of others in the same boat, on what grounds did they let you cancel?0 -
satisfaction return was the key, had a chat about the terms and conditions relating to this 18 month thing and they were adamant at first i would be held to it then relented and accepted back...bloody cheek
washed me hand of them on that score, other line finsishes next month, so will be on the look to orange or someone else, as have been stung by t-mobile for a double replacement sim cards last year when my phone was stolen when they should not have billed me once.
although now in the tncs they now have changed it to charge for replacement sims.........
oh well no moaning from me anymore im happy and free
damn boss is looking over my should back to work for me - he he he he0
