Certainly saves time come evening post time. Is that 300-500 per day?

until it jams / the labels won't print / you run out of credit or consumables ...

That is another reason why I've resisted one here (apart from not having sufficient volumes to justify it): it would be me sorting out all the problems! We had one in my last job, and they do take up space which we don't have either.

I've never seen one jam and I've never had any problems with printing labels. It makes common sense to keep your consumables up to date, same as you would with paperclips or staples. As for running out of credit, they're wired to a phoneline and it recharges credit in about 60 seconds. Much faster and more economical than going to the post office, especially if you're on a mail collect service.

The idea is to make more time for selling. Simple as that.

    Establish mail collections
    Get franking machine
Stay in the office and sell.

    Try this outfit then. http://www.northernservices.co.uk/

I've used them before on several occasions and always enjoyed a high level of service and economical supply.

    Sadly I cant agree.
I HAVE seen one jam and the time it can take sorting out settings is irritating when it's supposed to be a time/cost saver.
Might well depend on make of course.

I'm glad it's not just me. I think there was an element of operator error at times, but certainly when you were running a lot of labels through it was not always straightforward.
