HELP! ive bought a pram ??? have i got any rights?

i bought a pram in april this year and my daughter was born in march (21st)

the pram consists of a car seat, carrycot and seat unit.

my daughter is now too big for the carrycot and can only stay in car seats for upto 2 hours a time.

so time to get the seat unit out of the packaging.. put it on the chassis and tried to "tilt" the seat unit into recline position.. it never came with instuctions so i went onto the website and looked at the instructions for "that pram"

the instructions on the website show the exact chassis and the seat unit. it shows the seat unit "tilting" however the seat unit they are using is the exact same as the one i have but different colour " the instructions state limited edition" which is what mine is...

there are photos on the website of the exact same seat unit as mine even the colour shown in the tilt position on the chassis too?

now my seat unit does not do the tilt thing... its the back bit that just reclines...

took it back to the shop today (which is 20 miles from my house 1 way) to be told that the seat unit in the colour i bought was made a different way and basically there was nothing i could do about this?

surely if the seat units are all the same apart from the colours mine should have the tilt rather than the recline?

the pram was 530.00 in total so needless to say im not happy at all...

is there anything i can do to get them to either change the seat unit to a tiliting one? or refund me the money?

It's not a Quinny by any chance is it? if it is it's not the seat that tilts but the two round sections the seat locks into.

It took me hours to finally get ours to tilt when we changed from the car seat.

A pram make would make answering this much easier.

If its a Quinny Buzz You need to change the clips in the chassis and ensure they are lined up

Being a man it took me seconds to sort it :-)

PS The two hour thing about car seats can be safely ignored.

    ill try and find pics

http://www.kleverkids.co.uk/ this is the norton website... if you look under downloads then shop point of sale and click limited edition storm you can see the tilt chair there its pink and black...

but this link shows wat my seat really looks like http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Norton-storm-limited-edition-pushchair-forest-green-/330540757503?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item4cf5c3b1ff this is how mine is? but in pink lol

Did you check the packaging on the item you opened? was the limited edition specifically only the colour?

From what you've said so far there seems to have been an expectation that it tilts, rather than a description on or in the packaging that states it should when it doesn't?
  • the only difference is the colours yes... also u got the same chassis but chrome... i looked online at the instructions and it says to tilt... it even has a video showing this

the video with the instructions is called norton storm travel system limited edition? so how can i be wrong?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer direct for help or advice?

I bought an Out n About Nipper double for the twins which I had a bit of a prob with - Kiddicare (where I bought it from) were crap and their customer service appalling so I rang Out n About direct and received a new part and a spare just in case by special delivery at no charge:T

If you can contact the manufacturer it may be quicker and easier for you and if it is something you may be doing wrong they may be able to talk you through it or if the seat doesn't do as you expected it to they may sort our a replacement a lot qucker?
  • i have tried ringing norton today and all i got off them was the same as the shop (that colour seat was made differently) so i feel like im at a dead end but i want to take it further than this because if id have known the seat just reclined rather then tilted i would not have bought the pram...

i feel like i have been mis-sold a product tbh

also surely there is something that states item not as described?? so i could possible get swap or refund?

have you checked the packaging it came in? revisions exist in nearly all products, it may be that the tilt function was not introduced till later. I would also have some concern at the lack of instructions...there really should be more infomation in the box - but like I say, so far its all assuming it has tilt - the batch, model, revision on the packaging need to be referred to for specifics.

well the boxes didnt have anything about it on it whatsoever the only thing that was said on the box was the name brand and the picture of the item in the box? 1 box for carrycot 1 for carseat and a 3rd box for chassis and seat unit.. there was no revisions or nothing a few barcodes but thats it?

also one of their prams that has been out longer than mine is the tilt version and also the brand new ones that have just come out are also tilt version? so were did the recline seat come into it?

also did i not say i had a demo on the pram at the shop b4 i bought it and was shown the seat unit in a different colour.. which had tilt.. and when i asked if mine would be exaclty the same i was given the answer YES?
