Direct Debit Charges

in Credit cards
I note in todays news that the OFT is complaining about firms charging customers extras when using credit and debit cards. I pay about £4 a month 'Collection Fee' for the electronic transfer of my monthly payment by direct debit to my ISP. Does anyone else have to pay such fees?

Have just gone over last months statement and note that although the account is paid by a single direct debit every month, there are 2 collection fees involved.Abandoned0

Hiya
I think that the Credit Cards board might be better suited to your query, so I'll move your post across there for you.

Which ISP? Name and Shame please.
Does your ISP offer a cheaper method of payment?0 -

Supanet. Cant find the exact figures but I believe that the collection charge for BB is £2.50 and that for line rental £1.50, both per month and both included in the same DD. No cheaper method is offered and in fact there isn't a cheaper method than electronic transfer by DD available anywhere to my knowledge. I believe that we actually get a discount for paying by DD on some of our accounts.Abandoned0 -
Must admit I have never heard of a "collection fee".
We are with BE and our BB is charged to my Tesco credit card. The full balance is then collected from my HBOS current account the following month by DD.
I would be changing provider if BE tried to charge me an extra fee!0
