Park Hampers stalling refund.

Options
one of my customers had paid for food hampers totalling £125. The parcel was delievered 2nd december. It was left with my neighbour who was a pensioner. It was left there at 2pm and l did not get package until 11pm. The food was frozen, but by time l got boxes which may l add were 25kgs and over most of the produce was defrosting.Contacted Park Hampers on the Monday, after few days l was informed that boxes would need to be picked up 1st before l could get money back. This was arranged for Sat 9th Dec, but where not picked up. Contacted them on Monday 11th to complain about this and the health & safety issue. I was informed that l was given the wrong info and should have dumped the goods. Was informed that l would be recieving a refund. They reassured me cheque would be sent on Tue 12th, but to no avail. Phoned them on numerous occasions and told "cheque is in the post". Called again early on 19th and spoke to a supervisor and told them had no cheque. Asked him to cancel cheque and send me cash, which he reassured he would. He would send cash by courier service that day. But, as expected still have not recieved the cash. Feel so frustrated and feel this situation has not been treating with the urgency it deserves considering this is a christmas club and l have a customer who has paid the full amount and have recieved nothing in return. l feel that they have breached many things, the most serious being the health and safety and mis-information regarding the safe disposal of the food which was mainly meats. I would be obliged if you could advise me as l feel l am "banging my head against a brick wall". (Most of the calls are recorded for training purposes), so hopefully this will be available.

Maybe a phone call to your local H&S department at the council might be a good idea. I'm not sure if they will be able to help but it won't hurt your case to be able to push the issue with Park.

Also you might want to suggest that after the whole Farepak fiasco you are seriously reconsidering being an agent for a hamper co in the future and the way they have messed you around over this issue has done nothing to allay your worries.

Did you elect for your parcel to be left with a neighbour? Surely they must have a policy on this.
  • In answer to hollydays question,I was never informed of the day of delivery nevermind agreeing for it to be left with a neighbour and Park have admitted this by agreeing to a refund.its just agreeing a refund and giving a refund aren't one and the same.I think I will contact my local H&S for advice and mention the Farepak point next time I phone them, thanks looby75, as there is still no refund just empty promises.

Thanks again to looby75 and hollydays.
