There is, but the current cashback of £28 will more than cancel that out.

Been with them 3 months no problems whatsoever. Signed up through Simply Digital and £25 cash back in the pipeline. Customer Service has been excellent.

Thanks everyone, and for the tip macman but I already took it out. They agreed to waive the £25 fee cos they have an offer on until mid July that if you sign up for this service for a year you don't pay it at any stage. I didn't know this and they didn't have to tell me but they did. I can't see many companies who would be that honest. They were happy to email me the contract and the offer asap so I have it all in writing. Very helpful, prompt, and friendly. 10 out of 10 so far.

Great that they've waived the fee!

I've been with Plusnet (their 10GB 'Value' package) for just over a year now, and I've never had any issues with them.

    Friendly, helpful customer service.

    Reliable, steady, and cheap!

I was paying £5.99 per month for the Broadband.

However, as I took out Line Rental with them at the end of last year, I now get a credit of about £6 on my bill (so in effect, I get the BB free) :)

    So, I pay £5.99 (BB) + £11.99 (Line Rental) + £3.50 (Anytime Calls Plan Inc 0845 / 0870 Numbers) = £21.48 (All inc VAT per Month);

They credit my bill each and every month, with £6.24 though, so £21.48 - £6.24 Discount = £15.24 for BB / Line / All my calls! (They did this, to undercut TalkTalk.. Thank goodness I didn't go with TalkTalk, as I've read some horror stories about them!)

Plusnet have got rid of their Offshore call centres now, so all of the people you'll speak to will be in Yorkshire.

They've also recently emailed me, to let me know that my BT exchange has just been upgraded, so they'll be upping my speed without any hike in price or changes to contract.

All in all, Plusnet are probably the second best ISP I've ever been with.

I only say second best, because the best ISP was Zen Internet a few years back.

However, with Zen I was paying about about £35 per month, so it's horses for courses :)

You should be very happy with Plusnet.

    Good Luck!

They are indeed! Thanks for mentioning it :T

I was aware of this; that BT own Plusnet, before signing up, and it was the only thing that gave me pause for thought!

However, I'd much rather deal with the ladies and gents in Yorkshire, than with someone the other side of the World, where neither of us understand each other

    Cheers - Sim.

I 'phoned Plusnet CS a few months ago (and yeah got through to a real person!) to complain of very slow access. They were very efficient and diagnosed the problem with BT (out in the sticks lines). I said, 'but aren't you and BT one and the same?' Reply was, 'BT give us a bad name - we're good and they're s*$t'. Good straight talking Yorkshire guy!

    I like Plusnet.

Plusnet does not have any LLU exchanges, it's available on every exchange in the UK. All their services are resold BT Wholesale ones. However, the broadband price is cheaper on a Market 3 exchange because the wholesale price they pay to BT is cheaper. Being on a Market 1 exchange, unfortunately you pay the higher rate. This does not prevent you from taking your line rental from Plusnet if you wish.

Thanks for this. It looks like my understanding of the situation may have been confused due to the explanation I had at the time, but the experience was that depending on your telephone exchange you might only be offered their service at a higher price, so that seems to agree with this. We still decided it was good value for money though and were happy with the service.

Could you explain what a market 3 and market 1 exchange are please as I've never heard these names before?

An exchange search on https://www.samknows.com will show the Market status of any exchange.
