May be you should have a look at this older thread about a similar issue where their baby was getting rather big in their seat.Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

Does anyone have any information on how the rear-facing stage 1 and 2 seats fit in the car?
My DS is 8 months and 23lbs, and I'm still squeezing him into his MaxiCosi Cabriofix, but his head is now almost at the top, and his shoulders only just fit in, meaning it's a very tight fit.
I have a KA, and can only get DS into the Cabriofix by removing it from the car, putting him in, then clicking it back onto its base.
Are the rear facing seats easy to remove and replace? Or do they swivel so you can put the baby in, then turn it round? Are they light to lift? I can't find any of this information!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
We have the Britax 123 Evolva too for both our boys as it works out cheaper in the long term. It turns from a 9month plus one to a booster seat.

A lot will depend on your child's height and weight. My boys were very tall so needed to be in the next size up at around 9 months
but this isn't rear facing, is it?0 -
If you have isofix then I'd recommend getting an isofix chair, as it takes only seconds to transfer them from one car to another. I'd also recommend keeping them in the rear-facing chair until they are around 1.
Both our kids have Britax isofix chairs.
do Britax have rear facing isofix car seats then?0 -

We have the rear facing Britax 2 way elite, good to 25KG, our son has just turned 2 and I expect he will be in it for a long time. Down side is very fiddly to fit, so I don't think it will meet the OPs criteria.
If you look on the rearfacing website, I think there are details of the in car safety centre run by Essex council. If you are anywhere nearby, it is worth going along there. They have models of most carseats available so they can trial them in your car to see how well it fits. We went there before we bought our car seat and they are very helpful, they don't sell anything, they just want kids to be safe.0 -
I turned bubs forward facing a bit before his first birthday. We've an awkward car with belts that cause issues with car seats so rear facing wasn't an option once he outgrew his seat (tall boy!). We've also got the Tobi which I've no complaints about and is the only seat I tried that fits snugly in my car (it has a different belt routing than most). Easy to change cars too. Definitely a consideration if you've similar issues.0

I am in same position and much as i would like to see DS more easily but I think his safety is much more important so dont want to rush him into forward facing. I have seen this Britax First Class Plus which is both rear and front facing. I have maxi cosi travel system and he is getting quite big for it so to keep him rear facing for longer would be best for him
