Why is money in my relationship such a 'downer'!

As i am on holiday i deserve a beer or 2 of an evening-alcohol is cheaper than the uk so 5 beers 5 quid is hardly a big spend!
My hair transplant is 'demanded' by my job because parents expect a young fresh faced teacher with a full head of hair. These are piffling amounts of money and come from what i save out of my salary.
When i complain about my wife's extravagences i am talking about things like new cars and third homes apart from her addiction to hairstyling.mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
transplant or not they still aren't going to get a young, fresh faced teacher are they, or are you having a face-lift too? It may put hair on your head but it won't make you young.0

That is one of the most pathetic things I have ever read- I couldn't give jot about the apperance of any of my kids' teachers (other than still being surprised that the are younger than me ;-)) Get a grip!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

The school we own is a boutique school where the 'beautiful' people send their kids to be educated-as you say you dont know turkey! if i needed further surgery i would do it. İts quite a normal procedure to change ones appearence and my wife admires my tolerance of the pain for the sake of business. i spend most of my summer holidays being 'changed'-last year it was all my teeth and eye ops.-it all comes out of my own wages. we earn well but my wife just blows hers and then expects me to 'sub'-we come to the uk soon and she hasnt saved anything for the trip-she bought our daughter a iphone because she 'must' have one!
İ am far less alcoholically prone in turkey than i was in the uk where i met my wife-she loves drinking in the uk but doesnt like her favourite tipple in Turkey because there are no decent wines here.-we enjoy getting sozzled but i guess no one in the uk does!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

You may be on holiday now but you weren't when you were claiming to be drunk night after night. And according to your posts it certainly wasn't one or two beers. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a drink as much as the next person but I wouldn't want my child to be taught by someone who regularly has a hangover.
As for your job 'demanding' that you look good....Nonsense! You aren't a model, you're a teacher for goodness sake.
Teachers don't have to look good. They need to be good at their job and genuinely care about their charges to be respected by parents and children alike. Hair transplants don't factor into it at all.
I would prefer my child to be taught by someone who is getting on in years and balding, but who actually has an interest in my child and their education than by someone who is unqualified, turns up for work worse for wear and blames anyone and everyone for their inadequacies.0 -
school doesnt start before 2pm! kids go to main school in the morning and we get them in the afternoon so the mothers can go out with friends! --i would never teach with a hangover and i know no parent would like an alcohol fuelled teacher-i am not dumb.
You may not care how your teacher looks but our parents do! they pay the fees and expect standards! Most of them have had loads of alterations because where i live it is normal.-my hair transplant in the uk was estimated at 10k but here i got it for 1600 so costs are reasonable. My wifes hairdresser earns 5k a month which is just a bit more than us!
İ live in İzmir which is unlike any other part of Turkey. it is more european in its outlook and the rest of turkey hates it for its rightwing tendencies. Turkey is a rich tapestry of differences so unless you live in İzmir you wont get any idea from knowing anyone outside izmir.mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
So...you teach the children of the rich and beautiful in Turkey despite the fact that you don't speak Turkish. You are required to spend large amounts of money on your appearance but your wife (who has the same job) paying for haircuts is 'blowing' her money?
Come on, you're winding us up aren't you?0 -
my wife can change the colour of her hair 7 times a week!--i have a teenage daughter who 'keeps' it the same but a wife who loves the hairdresser!-its a symptom! she blows her salary whilst i preserve mine for 'essentials' i still have money for our trip to the uk.
As for my wife supporting me because i dont speak turkish-i open all the doors so my wife can connect to the right people. money talks!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
you carry on and have another beer or six, its not money talking its the beer

What language do you teach the Turkish children in? What subject?
A symptom of what?
In what world are hairplugs an 'essential'?
By the way, I've officially stopped believing you, no woman with any sense changes hair colour every day, it takes hours each time and you'd go bald. You're clearly a WUM.0
